Playing with my Scangauge II, today, I decided to observe TPS readings.
The TPS #s go from 1-12 or 13, then jumps to 99.
99 occurs at about 1/3 or less of the pedal travel.
Car runs great.

Is this normal for the TPS to register WOT when there is so much more throttle left to open?

Yes, that's normal. We force the TPS to go max anytime you enter boost.

I am having TPS issues with the S2000, and figured I would ask about it here, too.

I recently got a P0122 code, which is TPS sensor low (or something like that). I reset it, drove for a bit and it came up again. I then cleaned the connectors and reset it. I drove for ~80 miles, varying speed, A/C on/off, ran it up to redline, etc. No codes came back.

But I did notice that it would only get up to 88% at WOT. It did not matter what gear, rpm, A/C setting, it only reads 88%. If I manually work the throttle, I can get 89%.

So what do you think? Should I be getting to 99%?

FWIW, the TPS is calibrated to the TB at the factory and it is ~$450 to get a new one. And it has a Vortec supercharger, but I don't see how that would effect the TPS.

I think the Miata is never more than ~85-90% as well. Also, I think zero or closed throttle, varies around 5%.

You have throttle by wire, correct? Not sure if that has any effect. Just curious. :)

Anyhow, sometimes they look at the throttle position and, in our case, MAF. If the MAF sees more air than the TPS position should be having, you can get those errors. That is why we push the TPS to ~60% when you put your foot down. In you case, I think you are running MAP/MAT and it may be doing something similar. It thinks you have more air than the indicated low throttle position should have and pops the CEL.

What you need is PC-Pro and E-Cool. ;) That first SOT MP62 S2000 ran pretty well after I fitted E-Cool to it last year.

Mine has a cable. And reads 5% at idle.

The SC has been on for years and this is something new. I also have a 5th injector, so technically it is already "E-Cooled". I guess if the CEL does not come back on I just forget about it. It just seems like I am leaving 10% of my power out.

Real easy to see if it is opening all the way. Have someone push the pedal to the floor and see if it opens all the way.

Does this mean the AC is shut off whenever the car goes into boost? Yes, that's normal. We force the TPS to go max anytime you enter boost.

Yes. Even NA, the AC turned off at WOT.

But, in our case, as soon as we 1 PSI into boost, the AC is shut off?

If so, it's no wonder my car never cools down in light to light driving. :(Yes. Even NA, the AC turned off at WOT.

Yes. Give yours a chance. Up till yesterday, you had no freon. That would account for 'some' of the inability to make it cool. :) I think you have to bee in boost a couple seconds.

Well, 88-92% is the recommended range for the S2000. I hope that the CEL stays off now.
