Tom got me straighten out where the screw is located on the throttle body that adjusts the idle.

However, I have hoses that push up against the bottom of the throttle body.

It is a problem as I can not get my hand in a location where I can find the exact location of the screw. If I did, I have no idea how I would adjust the screw.

Should these hoses be up against the throttle body? Are there any suggestions.

Before I had my question as to the location of the screw I had the dealership look at it when they were doing something else. (The click & clutch problem, which they could not solve) The mechanic said he had no idea how to get to the screw.

That screw is a bear to get to. What hoses are running up against the bottom of the TB? There is one that comes from there.

One possibility is to remove the TB and turn the screw around so that it comes in from the other side. That way you can shut off the engine and make an adjustment to the screw and then run the engine again. Only bad part is that you would have to shut off the engine, hold the throttle plate open to get access and then adjust. Good news is that it would be more accessable.

Thanks Tom. I now know that I am not the complete idiot I thought I was.

All I need now is a good mechanic to take care of these problems - especially one to figure out the clicking noise.

I don't know what the TB is like on the Coldside, but on my Hotside using the BBK type TB I removed the annoying allen screw and replaced it with a regular hex type one. This way I could adjust the idle with a small open end wrench rather than monkeying in there with an allen wrench.

Thanks for the idea. I was just going to ask what tool it took to adjust the screw. (Thinking I might be able to get to it. HA HA)

Does anyone know what kind of screw is on the CS?

The screw is 4mm x 0.7 x 16mm long, I believe. Readilt available from Ace hardware or equivalent.

One note, if you do replace the throttle stop screw make sure you use some lock-tite on the threads of the new one. The original screw in there you'll notice has some on it to prevent it from backing out since it is an adjustment screw.

Tom,

As to the existing screw on the CS is an allen wrench needed just like on the HS. If not what. (Just in case I can get to it.)

As to replacing it, would it make sense to get a hex screw that is a little longer so it be easier to get to.

Also, you said "I believe" to the screw size. What might be the alternative size. I need to take every part that might be needed to whomever does this and other things.

Actually it is a 6mm x 25mm and uses a 3mm allen wrench.

Sorry I guessed. I should have checked.
