I am in the midst of installing my FFS and figured I'd take a couple shots of my custom intake.

I used corregated plastic and 0.5 x 0.5 aluminum angle. The filter is a 7" round x 4" deep K&N that has an offset hole.

The area marked with an "X" in the 1st picture will be cut out of the firewall. I just haven't done it yet.

I should be pulling 99% of my intake air from the high pressure cowl.

Here are some pictures...

Did you eliminate your MAF?

A bit messy in this pic. I need to get a newer one.

I just hacked mine out. Your box is a nice idea, but I don't have the same space.

Oh No, I forgot about the MAF

Nah...just joking. I am running a Megasquirt and have eliminated the MAF. :D

It sure helps that you don't have AC!

I see you rotated the bypass to get more room.

That looks great!

My original thought was to run straight out the TB through the firewall and put the filter in the cowl, like you :D. Unfortunately the wiper arms get in the way on the passenger side of the car. :(

Actually, I used to rotate the bypass for RHD and people with ABS. Then one of my customers asked why I made both. :) So I build all the kits with the ypass in that position now. You no longer have to re-locate the water bottle either.

That is really a 'cool' way to do the air intake. As soon as the igniter is gone (I'm replacing my Splitfire COPs and the igniter occupies precious space in the cowl.), I am going to figure out how to get my air from the cowl, or other cool place, as well. Where we take the air now is the coolest spot we found under the hood but it is still warm air.

Can you ensure it's ABS-compatible please :-)

I did not relocate the water bottle (other than raising it slightly with the bracket). Was I supposed to?

It is tight in that corner, but it all fits.

As long as it is out of the way, that's all that counts. I just took mine out all together. When I installed the new hood, I didn't install the water nozzles.

Just a note. A friend of mine is a cop and tells me that not having
windshield washer is illegal,(in Wisconsin). Even if you have it, but it's
empty. He said he has actually given a citation for that once.. Of course
I can only speak for Wisconsin. I never did put mine back in yet, but am going to convert and oil catch can into a resevior to take up less space.

Tom, I looked at my install and if I had my bypass rotated, it would seriously interfere with the fuel lines in my NB.

Just a heads up.

It only took me 2-3 minutes to remove that bracket and tie the fuel lines out of the way. Just like the RHD/ABS cars. Makes a clean install.
