Hypothetically

hypothetically speaking here, say you had a 2.25" mid pipe, one piece has a little muffler and the other has a cat. Now if one removed the cat and replaced it with another muffler, would that make a super charged car louder or quieter ?
The car already has a dual outlet muffler that has racing Beat on the exhaust tips. Hypothetically speaking , of course ;)

Hypothetically, I replaced my whole midpipe with the RB resonated (off road use only) midpipe and it is significantly quieter than when the cat was there but "empty". Muffler is stock.

I found out last night that this is an early version of a "FM" mid pipe that came in two pieces like I described above, coupled with a 2001+ header might be a schose to loud
