Hey Tom, which plugs should I pick up in preparation for my install? This is on a '00.

Plugs come with the kit.

What doesn't come with the kit is the clutch. I highly recommend replacing it with something stronger than stock. I am still running the stock clutch in the '05 but I have never tried a hard launch from a stop with it. And I think that if I put my BFG T/A DRs on it, the clutch would be yesterday's news.

Thanks Tom, nice touch including the plugs! Looks like Goodwin has a sale going on Act clutches. Now..how to convince the wife that my clutch suddenly went out.

wait till after the superchargeer is in and do a few real hard launches. It will be easy to convince her after that. :)

BTW, I am thoroughly convinced that the flywheeel and pressure plate should be spin balanced.

I had the ACT stage 1 and now have the stronger version (stage 2). I like the Stage 2 better. JMHO.

Why do you like the stage 2 better? I've got a stage 1 sitting in a box in the garage waiting to go in after the stocker goes...

The stage 1 grabbed too close to the floor and sometimes squealed like dusty brakes. The stage 2 is smooth in operation and grabs about the same place as stock. Personally, I don't think the stage 2 takes much (any?) additional foot strength than the 1.

There is a long thread on mnet somewhere where I drove over to ACT and they pulled my clutch and re-worked it to cure the squeal problem. It worked pretty well and they offered the change to everybody else. The S2 just doesn't have it from the get go.

It's probably just a personal thing but I just like the feel of it better.
