What is this oil leak banshee talking about and how do I prevent it before
I get to this part of the install?

Probally my stupid mistake for not using enough ultrablack. (I may have taken Tom's suggestion of "Almost none" literally.)

I think it is just the mist from the PCV valve that is normal. Apparently he might not have had sufficient ultrablack to seal the joint. It might actually be better to use ultra copper. It is a bit higher temperature. I have UB and do not have that problem. I also just changed oil and, after 4000 miles, still had a full tank so the mist is really not much. When you pull your stock intake manifold, it will also have an oily film as it works the same way. If you were not consuming oil before the kit you will not be consuming oil after the install.
About 30 years ago the government decided the old "breather" system was too polluting and wanted the valve cover vented back to the intake. Then they needed to feed it with fresh air. The result was the Positive Crancase Ventilation (PCV). As I said above, if you weren't consuming oil before the install, you won't do it after the install. Just apply a thin film of ultra black or ultra copper on the mating surface of the intake manifold to the cover plate. Make sure you immediately bolt them together before the UB skins over to insure a good seal. If you wait a few minutes, it might not seal properly.
