I just put a SGII on my 99 and whenever I am coasting, TPS=0, my instantaneous mpg goes to 9999. This skews my avg mpg to the high side badly.
Has anybody else seen this. I wonder if it is a PC caused problem.
Is anyone else using a Scangauge with the old Powercard?

I think it happens because fuel flow goes to "0". I haven't looked lately but on my stock 2002 I think it does the same thing.

Even a stock Miata will do that. When you lift and coast the stock ECU turns off the injectors. It always has. If you are moving forward at any speed and consuming zero fuel, your gas mileage is 999999999 MPG but the SG only has 4 digits so it only shows 9999.

I found the solution. This will make your instantaneous mpg go to 100-150 or so and not all the way to 9999. For instance, a Prius coasting only goes to 99.
Here's the fix:
Home>More>Setup>Fuel>Cutoff> Set to Zero.
Works for me.

Nice tip! I'm thinking bout getting a scangauge (eventually...) I'll keep this in my back pocket for that time :-)
