I'm finally getting around to installing the SPAL PWM programmable fan controller.
Most of the wiring seems pretty straight forward or something I've tapped into before like a 12v switched ignition. But, there is one I've never used before - the AC 12v input. This is the line that gets the signal to turn on the rad fans whenever the AC is turned on.
Since I'm not very good at reading wiring diagrams, can someone tell me which wire (under the hood) is the one that gets power when the AC turns on?
The SPAL PWM can be programmed to have a low temp turn on point (for the rad fans) to turn on at 50% and then a high temp turn on point for 100% (both fans). SPAL recommends at least a 20F difference so I'll try a 175F as a low and 200F as a high.

Here is the wiring diagram from the instructions section for the 99.

That shows the AC fan to come from Terminal 1I in the harness and the color code to be L/W which should be Blue/White.

Also note that 1R (Red/Green) is the output for the Cooling Fan Relay.

Denada. Sorry it took awhile to respond. I have been busy recently shipping kits to Norway, Australia, the UK and now Tasmania. That and trying to get John Wing's Hotside sorted out for him and trying to make a 1.6L Coldside and...and...and getting little sleep now and then. ;)

Sorry that I have added to your workload.
Once we have figured it all out, I will do a write-up on the trials and tribulations we have experienced with this car.

I love having a heavy load of sales. ;)
We will get that hotside worked out. ;) I love a challenge.

Tom, do you know which is coolant temp sensor? I was going to tap into the aftermarket sensor, but since I'll be measuring the temp using the OBD2 sensor...
Also, the SPAL unit bypasses the OEM fan replays altogether. It will trigger the fans based on the temps that I program.
I'm about 30% done as of yesterday. I've done the 12v power, the ground and I've IDed the fan wires. Now if I can remember where a good switched 12v power source was. :(

One side of the 12VDC fan relays are tied to a good switched 12V. You could use that wire. Black/White is also switched 12V where ever you find one. Should be a B/W wire at each fan relay.
Not sure what you mean by "which is coolant temp sensor"? Are you asking where the sensor is? If so, I think it is at the back of the engine? If you are asking which wires(s) are the sensor wires, they are BLK/Red (power) and Red/Blu (signal).
