Ohio stopped the whole emissions thing a couple years ago. I used to get "exempted" because the car was too low for the rollers.
In the end, the test was just an ODBII plug in and then they would pretend to pressure test the gas cap by placing their hand over the tester hose.
As long as you paid your $20, they would pass you.

I was fully prepared to go on the hunt for a "sympathetic" shop. I didn't want to swap CATs etc. Must be nice to just pay-n-go.

I felt cheated. I had to pay these idiots $20 for a friggen piece of paper. They were not even doing their job. I guess thats why they got shut down in Ohio.

What do you mean they got shut down. They have not, I had to have my car tested for plates this year, they plugged into my ECU and ran there test for what ever and then they did presure test the cap, the cap failed so I had to buy a new cap.
The only thing now is you do not have to pay for the test any more. At least in Ohio, summit county.

I guess I should clarify. They got shut down in SW Ohio. Cincinnati/Dayton area.

I was just wondering if all of Ohio was going to get shut down. I was hopeing. Have you heard anything like that?
