Does anyone have any experience with the Hondata heat insulating intake manifold gasket?

If this reduces the amount of heat the head adds to the intake, and the air (off boost) cools the intake, then there is a little less heat under boost.

$50 is expensive for a gasket, but if it helps.....

Or, is it smoke and mirrors?

Steve,

I had one on the first prototype manifold in 2004. I can't say for sure but I don't think it helped. I think what it did was delay the inevitable heat soak but it still came. If it was NA, I think it might be a good thing. As soon as you enter boost, the main source of heat is no longer the engine. The blower heats the air significantly more. I know E-Cool doesn't work :) but it appears to cool the charge air back down in my tests.

Thanks - I expected someone had experience.

And it also is not CARB approved?! Will they require CARB approval for seat covers next?
