So my checks in the mail and I will be doing the install myself.
Is anyone else putting this kit on an '01/2/3/4/5 or will I be on an
island?
I am capable of bolting all this stuff together but when you
guys start talking about all the technical stuff of fuel management
and cooling, I get lost within all the theorys and math, so this makes
me nervous that I'm getting in over my head. This is the main reason
I've stayed away from F.I. so long. Seems everyone is always tweaking
this and that, experimenting and breaking stuff.and all I want is what
the slogan quotes "install,turnkey,enjoy"
With this fifth injector adjustability, how will I know where to set
it without dyno tunning runs? Is it possible? Is the fifth injector the
only thing that I will have to tune? or is it preset?
Will I be able to set it and forget it without worrying about doing
damage to my engine?
I'm counting on your patience and help while I start asking dumb
questions.
I guess I'll be learning a lot in the next couple of months.

Check is here and it will ship Monday. You are not completely alone. I have one on the '05.

The fuel management is pre-programmed and bolt on and connect the wires. Everything is bolt on. There are no needed adjustments, alignments or programming. The '99 we did for Lyle was, other than the CAT and ABS, trouble free and strictly bolt on.

It is "Install kit, turn key, enjoy" as long as the rest of the engine/exhaust is in good working order.

The fifth injector is already pre-programmed. Simply plug it in. You will have the software and can play with it if you so chose but there is really no need as evidenced by Lyle's car today.

Questions are always welcomed and will normally get fast response. If you need immediate help, my email is good as it comes straight to my phone no matter where I am. My phone checks for email every 30 minutes so that would be the worst case. Use Sales@FastForwardSuperchargers.com

The rest of your goodies all sound like good choices.

Got my kit yesterday, 4/4/06. Looks great and should be a good
challenge for me. Anyhow,
I cant get the files on The instruction CD to open on my Mac.
I took the CD to work and a guy was able to open and print the
coldside.doc for me with instructions but was unable to open the
01_05MDB file. I'll try a couple more sources for help on that.
What info is on this file ?

Jared.

The mbd file is the map file for the R4 software for the Split Second module. It will only open with the R4 software. That software is in the SS box. You should have no need for it but it is there just in case. It is the same map as programmed on the SS already.

The instructions are in Word format. I thought those would open on a Mac? I was considering publishing them in PDF but don't know how to convert them. I can save them in Word for Mac (version 2, 3, 4) format if that would help for the future?

Hey Jared, I know you're going to enjoy the process. It has been a bit challenging for me both physically and mentaly, but a great experience. You'll know the whole thing inside-out by the time you're done! I'm not to far away from winding mine up no small thanks to Tom, who has a way of NOT making me feel dumb.

Jared,

Just remember, Pat is still in elementary school. We have to cut him some slack. ;)
