Hello guys, Can anyone else tell me can I put the yellow wire from the
SS to anywhere else but the blue wire with gray trace that it calls for. The problem is thaT there is no room on the fire wall to put the SS on 02 SE .
and the other side is taken up by the anti lock brakes? Plus what is the vacuum hose for on the SS? it doesn't say anywhere that I can find?
So very close.. :D

I mounted my SS to the ecu, just velcroed it on right beside the JRPC. I wanted to keep it out of the heat and dirt of the engine compartment.

Now Iam really down to the last step of the install. I have the SS all set on where it will go and the wires thru the firewall now Ineed to know what wires to hook the SS up to by the ECU? It says that the

CAS is gry/blu and hook it to #3V and power goes to wht/red #4AF and ground is blk/blu which would be fine if I new where they were under there. There are a ton of wires there. Please help. Thanks again Rich & Ken for ALL your help.

Thom,

I just e-mailed you the BRP ELF instructions. That will show you everything except for which wire to tap for the CAS.

If you have to, you can always tap the CAS under the hood. I tapped it off one of the wires coming out of the DIAG box.

Thom, just take a deep breath. Looking at all those wires made me want to take a nap. To make it easier just unplug the three plugs from the ECU, unwrap a few inches of the tape, spread then open and now you can easily see the colors of each wire. The ground Blk/blu was (on my 00) on the top plug near the top of the bundle. You're almost there Dude! :D

In the ELF instruction, go to page 3. At the bottom of that page you should see the wiring diagram for 01-05. Highlighted in red is the power. Highlighted in black is the ground. Both those wires are on the highest ECU plug.

On the middle ECU plug is your cas wire. middle row, 2nd column from left.

How do you reach them. MY back just won't bend that way. After 5 back operations. Any tricks in your hat?

First, unscrew the panel under the steering wheel. That will give you much more room. Then pull the fuse panel door for more light. Then simply unplug the the plugs from the ECU. Once you do that, you can cut the electrical tap to get a little more slack in the wire. It's not too bad. To tell you the truth, I didn't use the ground wire and power wire from the ecu, but instead just use a "add-a-circuit fuse and tap into the ABS fuse in the fuse box. So much easier. And you don't to screw with your ECU. I use the screw that is holding the ECU to the firewall for the chasis ground.

you can find these at the local autozone for $5.

I also sit on the ground with my legs under the open door. Not much bending needed that way.

When I was first installing the supercvharger, I removed the drivers seat - 4 14mm bolts.

You have to take the drivers seat out. Get a pillow and put it down to lay on. Put your feet on the shelf tray. I had to wear my reading glasses to be able to focus that close. I pulled all three ecu connectors out and spread the wires out so that I could see better. I ended up soldering my wires just to add to the excitement. Nothing like molten lead inches above your face.

This all sounds great but what if I break something conected to the ECU, how much trouble can I get into here. I was thinking that I would have to pull the seat.. Thanks guys. Little scared here so I guess I will stair at this for a couple of day until I get my nerve up..
Thanks again to everyone. :!:

There is a little tab on each connector. Just push that in with a short blade screwdriver and pull. I have had mine out at least 10 times with no ill affect.

I can stop over and pull them out for you if you like? I will be home tomorrow morning early and then off to golf in the PM and then off to beer bottling at 5. I off on vacation after that.

Don't pull the wires, just the actually plug. I use an "eyeglass" flathead screwdriver to press the tab in then simply wiggle it out.

Thanks for the tips Guys it is very much appreciated. Thanks for the offer Dr Evol but I will get soon. But if I am still in this shape next week maybe I will call you if you are around.
Thom

Thanks you too Banshee.

Thom, I used a wiring harness extender from autosportwiring.com. Tom had initially spotted them. Not cheap, but I wanted to solder my connections and didn't want to do it under the dash. It helped me keep some of my sanity towards the end of the install :D

I sympathize with the back thing. 64 years old with no back operations but still don't bend that good, I get so frustrated trying to get to those wires I feel like throwing the car against the wall. Luckily I can't pick it up. The last time (of about 20) that I got in there I removed the whole ECU assembly to see if it was easier. It wasn't, just more work to get to the upper nut. Another frustration is the flashlight sitting on the floor of the car to see up there gets blocked by your hand (can only get one hand in since the left won't bend backwards).

It would almost be worth it to cut out the floor of the car so you can sit on the garage floor straight up under the dash.

I like the idea of the fuse add on. Running all these gadgets off that one little wire at the ECU has been making me nervous. Damn, one more trip under the dash.

Well all done and working good. But not quite the HP I wanted yet. still tweeking. I had a panic today got it all done and the car would not start, Called Tom and he asked if I had spark plug wire in, yes he asked if I had battery back together, yes He asked if the ECU was pluged in, yes & NO. ONe out three plugs not bad.LOL. anyway someones idea take out the driver seat and put a pillow on floor. head by the gas pedal, feet up by the roll bar. Works pretty good.

Did you dyno your car already? How do you know you're not at 190 yet?

ThomS
07-06-2006, 07:48 PM
because It just doen't put you back in your seat like my turbo 05 MSM.
and when on highway at 4 to 5000 RPM it just does not have the pick up like the turbo. other than that you are right I don't know. wont have it dyno until August no time...

Dr Evol
07-07-2006, 04:24 AM
Thom, your supercharged car will never feel like the MSM. The supercharger has a whole different feel. It dosen't have that hit like a turbo. The torque starts much earlier on a supercharger than a turbo.

Join us at the drag strip (42) on July 18th. I'm sure your supercharged car will be much faster and quicker than the MSM.

P.S. - I love the way the supercharged car drives compaired to my Evo. I can use the torque down low to just putt around or keep my foot in it to get up to the HP. The Evo was always begging me to keep my foot in it until the big hit of power came on.

I understand that I guess but When I drove Rich V car even he had more power then I did. Does the car need better spark plug wires to preform.
Rich's car did lot better after the new spark plug wires were installed.
You remember the day at dragway 42 when his car just did'n t have the power???? But its more that that I have a sound kinda like a AIR/Shrill type sound and it has something to do with my problem.

I think there is a real problem as well. Sounds like it is just not making boost and there might be a vacuum leak.

Sorry I missed you post. I don't have a computer right now and have to wait to use my wifes wireless. any way When you get back will be fine, I have been tweeking with Tom"s help and we are getting thing under control.. ( Tom you have the patients of a saint ). But still like you to look at it also. Thanks.

I can look at it at Dragway 42 on July 18th if you are going. We can meet there a little early to give us time to go over everything. Bring a flashlight!

If not, we can meet some other place and time. You have my cell?

I'm sure you and Tom will have it totally screaming by the time I get back.

P.S. - I finally fixed my two CELs. One was due to a small hole in the line that runs from the charcoal canister back to the gas tank. The other was due to the fact that we pinched the front O2 wire between the engine and clutch housing during the clutch install and grounded it out. No cels for me!
