Bypass Actuator Collar Question:

There is a shaft collar and set screw on the bypass butterfly shaft. I have never noticed until today, but this collar is loose on mine. Set screw is not set. Everything functions properly.
Is this collar just acting as a spacer, or should I lock it down in some position? This is a BRP Hotside, but should be similar I guess. I'm asking here because I trust you guys more than some of the other experts.

It's OK. Ignore it. It is supposed to act as a stop to the shaft movement. The original BRP hotsides never even had one. My Coldside collar has been loose most of it's life. If you tighten the set s rew and lock it down, be careful or the shaft can bind. The work OK from the factory with it tight but when the loosen (most will) I leave them loose.
