Hi all,
I just received my supercharger back from Magnuson and have some questions I need help with. They rebuilt the unit and in doing so removed the manifold top from the SC body. I need to know what bolts to put in what holes.
I know that the 4 big ones that are on the bypass side and front of the SC are bolted in from the bottom of the manifold to the top. What other bolts do I need to insert to hold the manifold top to the SC?
Also, should I use some ultra black here too?
Thanks in advance!

With the supercharger positioned as in the photo and the spacer positioned as shown, only install the three 8mm x 16mm (20mm will work if you can't fine 16mm) in the recessed holes on the left. Apply ultra-black to the mating faces before installing the bolts. If you are not going to put it on the car immediately, use three 8mm x 20mm bolts in the other three holes to clamp it until the ultra-black dries.

Thanks Tom! Figured out which bolts go where....just didn't apply enough Ultra Black. I hope to get this done and running tonight.

You are welcome. I assume/hope they did it all under warranty and no charge? Should look like new inside.

Yes, all under warranty although they did try and say that it's only a 36K warranty! Anyway, it does look new inside but then again, it didn't look old before I sent it in. They said it had no oil which is why it was making all the racket. I was expecting them to say that I drained it but they were very nice and aside for the initial haggling over the warranty, they fixed it and fixed it fast. Although I should say that until I actually get the car back together, I won't know for sure that it's fixed.
Anyhow, one more question; there are 4 bolts that screw in from the bottom. One of them is smaller than the others. Where should this one go? thx in advance

Well, it used to be 3 years or 100,000 miles, whichever came first. Guess there aren't a lot of people, other than me, that can put 100,000 miles on it in 3 years. :)
"Limited Warranty:
Magna Charger warrants its products against defects in materials or workmanship for a period of three years from the date of sale"
I wonder if the person you talked to meant 36 MONTHS, not 36,000 MILES? The above quote is directly from their website.
Let me know how it goes. Typically, they keep the case and replace the rest.

Maybe that's what he meant since he dropped it pretty quickly once I told him that their website quotes 3 yrs, 100K miles. They were very pleasant to deal with and things look pretty new in there.
I'm almost done...just got to connect the EGR, vacuum hoses, etc and I should be done! Gotta eat first though

It's alive! And quiet!! I don't think it was ever this quiet when I first put it on. I took it for a spin...feels the same, makes the same boost so all is well in the world again.

I am sincerely sorry you had the problem but happy all is now well.

Thanks Tom! I appreciate the sentiment. The only problem I have left is to sort out an intermittently high idle I noticed on the drive in this morning. Other than that, it runs very well.
BTW, you're right; they did replace all the internals. I looked at the work order and it looks like it essentially brand new except for the case.

Look for a vacuum leak somewhere. Make sure you throttle cable has a bit of slack too. You said the throttle body wasn't sticking so that is ruled out.
My guess is a loose hose on the TB or VDB. What is your vacuum reading when it happens? Did you put that little white plastic restrictor in the 3/8" hose that connects to the exhaust side of the cam cover?

I don't believe I ever had a restrictor on the exhaust side and if I remember, the reading was around 20 lbs of vacuum.
I'll check all the hoses before I leave here today and check the cable. I think that may be the culprit; I think I had a little too much slack the first time around and so tried to adjust it a little tighter. When I pull on the pedal, idle does return to normal.
