View Full Version : Two check valves.

On the 01-05 there are two small check valves. One in the VTCS circuit at the bost sensor (green and white) and another (green). I checked my 05 and I am not using either. ThomS asked me where they go and which direction. I know some of you have installed the one, at least, and cured the 1512 CEL. Can you post which vacuum line and which direction you put it? I am wondering if the solid green thing is what they call out as the "delay valve" and is simply a restrictor of some sort. Did anyone put it back in? If so, where. Again, I looked at the 05 this morning and saw neither of them.

Thanks. I will include it in the manual when you post it.

Thanks Tom for checking. Still get the code 1512, but ALL seems to run ok.

O.K., on my '01 there were two (check valves) in the vacuum system.
one was solid green and the larger of the two. The hose with the larger
solid green one was completely eliminated so I did not reuse it.
The green and black one was in the VCTS vacuum line. Originally I did not use this one either and I was getting the 1512 code.
What I have now is:
The vacuum line that goes from the passenger fender to the VCTS has the
green and black check valve in the line with the black side towards the
VCTS and it is connected to the VCTS barb that comes out of the solenoid
at a 90 degree angle. the second barb that comes straight out of the solenoid and points down is connected to the Vacuum distribution block.
I don't have a ton of miles on it this way yet but I have not thrown the 1512 since......?

Hope this helps,
Jared.

I updated the 3D drawing (http://www.fastforwardsuperchargers.com/Install/01-05-System.htm). Did I get it in the correct direction? Thanks for the help.

Sorry Tom,
Mac user with outdated OS.
I cannot view that cool 3d drawing everyone likes.

Jared.

Jared,

You wrote "The vacuum line that goes from the passenger fender to the VCTS has the green and black check valve in the line with the black side towards the VCTS"

Let me clarify and tell me if I am correct. " The vacuum line that goes from the VTCS sensor on the passenger fender to the VTCS solenoid at the firewall has the green and black check valve in the line with the black side towards the VTCS solenoid." Is that correct?

Also mine is green and white so is white side same as his black?
Right now the arrow that is on this green and white item it pointed toward thw fender or sensor.

the fender)

This was all Jared. I updated the 3D drawing to show the check valve. I will add the arrow tomorrow.
