Hello Everyone,
New to the forum and quite interested in the FFS system I was wondering why FFS opted to use fuel instead of water as the cooling medium? Aside from the cost considerations(fuel vs water) is gasoline injection to cool the air easier to handle in terms of getting the right A/F mixture setup? Is it more effective than water injection?
Thanks!

Ok, let's say you are depending on a liquid (fuel, water) to cool you down and avoid knock. Now, what would you rather have...1/2 gal of water or 12 gal of fuel?. Also using fuel does add to the air/fuel equasion under boost. It's a win, win situation. I'll let Tom address the physics of fuel vs water in absorbing heat. I can tell you the dang thing works!! :P

Pat pretty well summed it up. Fuel is not as efficient as water but you have 12 gallons of it on board and less likely to run out. Besides, you need more fuel to make more power so it kills two birds with one stone. And it works.

Another thing is that you avoid clogged nozzles from water deposits and no check valves and use a fuel injector that is much more robust. You also do away with having another pump since your fuel line is pressurized.

Also, I wouldn;t want to have to worry about filling ANOTHER tank be it water or whatever. Though I'm not going to rule out WI in the future, why bother if you don;t need it?
