I bought from FormerDatsun510Man an Nice FFS Fuel Rail and have a few questions about it. I plan on using it on my hopefully 175HP homebrew m62 setup on my 2000 Miata. I do plan on single feeding it and using purpletop injectors. Should I just be able to find a connector to the stock quick connect fitting? Also should there be a regulator on it?
Thanks,
Bob

Mine isn't homebrew, but I do have Tom's rail on my 2000. The regulator is in the gas tank, but there are 2 pulsation dampers in the engine bay. The one at the front of the OEM fuel rail can be done away with. It would probably be in your way anyhow. I didn't buy a replacement quick-connect, just some good fuel injector line and clamps.

Hey Pat,
So you have the firewall side of the rail plugged and put an elbow fitting on the other end of the rail pointing down? That is what came with mine. I just don't see how to connect the plastic line to the barbed fitting. What am I missing?
Thanks,
Bob

Yup, front end gets the fuel input and then goes down under the alternator (or whatever route looks good to you). I'm not very good at picturing what your stock fuel system looks like, but there is a "shelf" on the passenger side with a canister and a fuel damper. Just find the line that goes to the front of your OEM fuel rail and replace it all the way back to the damper on the shelf with a flex fuel injector line. It's cheap stuff at any autoparts store.

Thanks Pat. Mine should be about like yours unless CA cars are different with both being 2000. I was thinking avoid the flex line but what you described sounds good to me. Curious though what the real purpose the damper on the stock fuel rail serves?
Thanks again,
Bob

The damper on the fuel rail is not needed with the high flow rail. It's job on the stock rail was to dampen the pulses. The stock rail is only about 3/16" ID. The new rail is 3/8" ID or about 4 times the cross section and volume. The volume will dampen the pulses.

Thanks Tom. It is a well made and nice looking piece. I plan on using proportional alky injection for my cooling but if I have a need for a 5th injector should I "T" off the front end or use the firewall end port? Or does it matter?
Well, I first have to get beyond this

If you add a 5th injector later, all you need to do is cut the hose going to the rail and put a tee in it.
