Hi folks,
This is my first post to the forum, so please don't beat me up too bad if this has been covered in the past. I did a search but found nothing. I posted on the BRP forum too, and Wayne in Fla suggested I sign up and post here too. Anyway, here's the issue:
I'm running a BRP hotside kit with the BRP throttle body on my 95. My trouble seems to stem from the white plastic bushing that operates the Throttle Position Sensor. If the throttle is opened any further than half way, the bushing sticks in the bore and the throttle sticks. This happens even if the TPS is removed and the bushing is set in the bore; it is not binding top to bottom, but more on the side. With the bushing removed, the throttle operates normally. There does not seem to be any abnormal play in the shaft or anywhere else. I did not use any lubricant on the bushing when I installed, and a quick dab of Mobile One applied in haste had no positive effect. Rob at BRP suggested a light application of grease. Any experience with this? Ideas?
On a related note, I read about the throttle cable modification in an earlier thread. Is this recommended for me?
Thanks!
Tom
