Is Trussville still our best deal? Just had a 0300 which quickly came and went (no flashing) but this and an odd blip on the dyno a few weeks ago tell me it's time for some preventative maintenance at 100k+ miles.

Probably?
I wish somebody made a coil set like this for the 99-00. :driving:

The problem we have is that, as boost goes up, the stock coils just can't fire anymore. :( You can actually make more boost and less WHP.

I need to mention what happened in my case with my MP62 R4 hotside, installed on a 2001. 10K miles after the R4 installation, and being to a dyno shop 3 times, during those 10K miles, I started getting RANDOM codes, 0300, and 0301. (random misfire, and misfire cylinder 1). I changed out the wires, plugs, swapped the TWO coils, to no avail. Same indication. Finally, one day at the dealership, a tech gave me two used, but good coils from a Protege, and said to swap them into my car. I did, and it was obvious, this was the problem, as the engine ran way better, as soon as I started it up. I ordered two new ones, and put them in a day or two later. Car ran GREAT, again! After only 200 miles, I started getting the SAME codes again, at random. Mazda gave me two more, new coils. Car ran GREAT! Then, after about 300 miles, started getting the SAME codes, again!!!
Well, our club had a wash n shine at a members home, and a pretty smart individual said your problem obviously isn't the coils. He started looking around the wiring, and found a couple places that had a hole or two in the insulation, from the people at the DYNO shop, hooking up leads by clipping them into the wires! The spark, I assume would ground out, at times, causing the misfire codes. He separated the wires, where they had been punctured, wrapped them in electrical tape, and 2000 miles later.....NO codes!
So I do suggest, if you are getting these random misfire codes, AND you've been to a DYNO, check those wires that the dyno person clips onto, to monitor stuff during the dyno, and tape over where the insullation was punctured. That's ALL that was wrong in my case.

Anyone understand why this is not allowed by CARB!?! How much smog do they add?
How much smog does a failed coilpack, and the resulting failed CAT(s) cause?
I gotta move.....
