It appears that when ever you have something nice and wholesome, the devil has to come and try and wreck it. Due to the rabid increase in new registrations that are from "we buy gold" and, worse, "click here for porn" posts, I have restricted new registrations. If you register and don't get an acknowledgement of your registration in short order, you are welcome to send me an email and I will check into it. Please write a short synopsis in the email of your car so I know it is legitimate.

I apologize for any posts that are in bad taste. As most of you know, I delete them normally within minutes of their posting but I can't be there all the time to chase the little kiddies who must play and the others that seem to make a living of putting that filth in your face.

Well, I have installed vBulletin 3.8.0 successfully, I hope. You have no idea what trepidation I go through every time it is time to do that task/chore.

V3.8.0 comes with new registration security and, thanks to Doug and his IT team, I have added another step in registration to help get past the issue of rogue membership. We were getting as many as 200 new 'members' a day. MAYBE one of them was legit. Hopefully now we will be able to maintain our community as we all have come to enjoy it without me having to babysit new reqistrations.

If you have any problems registering as a new member, please let me know. I apologize now for any inconvenience you may have.

Good work Tom, I have seen the worry on your face when working with an upgrade.

More like pure fear. :)

After shutting the forums down twice (once for several days) when trying to do these 'simple' updates, I am in fear. I skipped two updates in the V3.6.x and all of the V3.7.xx (6 separate updates). Only to find yesterday that, to get to V3.8.0, I had to do all of those in-between updates anyhow! ;(

Disclaimer: No Margaretas were consumed in this update process.

Why can't people mind ther own business. They always have to ruin something good for others. Thanks for all your hard work Tom. My prayers are that it doesn't get to be too much and you say just shut it down.

Well, big kudos to Doug and his IT guys. We have had ZERO bogus registrations since I added the question.

Thanks for the kudos from you too. It was killing me to try and keep up with literally hundreds of new registrations daily. Of which, MAYBE one would be legit.

As you know there is always an offer of help from this side of the pond.

Keep up the good work.
