Man that sucks, I know your frustration. Be thankful that the code is
harmless just very annoying.
Have you tried to flop the two hoses at the vcts solenoid.
P1512 Intake Manifold Runner Control Stuck Closed.
P1518 Intake Manifold Runner Control fault - Stuck Open.
Jared.

Thoms,
It would help us a lot if you could snap a picture of your engine bay, especially the vaccum lines.

Are you sure the connectors at the ECU are connected correctly/firmly?
0010 is an OCV (Oil Control Valve) detector Terminal 4D on the ECU
0850 is the neutral switch detector terminal 4H on the ECU
0172 is an O2 sensor problem and the O2 comes in on terminal 4AA of the ECU
VTCS comes in on 4J
Seems like a pattern? Connector 4 at the ECU?

Thom,
I will stop over at Rich's tomorrow morning to see if I can find anything that might be causing your problems.

Here are all of the codes as listed by Mazda in the Miata manual for future reference.

Are you sure those are all new codes or could they be left over from the past. The ECU remembers the old codes even when they go away if not cleared.
