I have with this SC install and a lot of code coming from the car I also have another question.

Is it possible something is hooked up wrong. I have noticed that I have air conditioning water coming out of the bottom of the car when the unit is not turned on? Can anyone explain? Its a lot of watrer as if I was using it with top down. the car is 02 SE Miata w/FFSC just installed. I have never seen this before. ???????
When I do put on the air to check I hear teh unit kick in and the HP drop.
signed frustrated.

Did you remember to install the new hose from the oil filter adapter to the thermostat?

are you loosing coolant?

You should have. It is on all 99-05 cars. That short formed hose that jumpers out where the two hoses used to be for the IAC warm up. 94-97 doesn't use it.

No I don't think I installed the hose but will check tomorrow. And no to any coolant leak. Just water.

Well I'm glad I went out and checked. Yes I do have it but did not remove it for install. I just saw that my supercharger belt is wearing through it.
I did have a small extra hose after install but it wasn't in the directions. Is that what it is for? to keep the hose farther away from belt? If so I'll
have to try and find it.
Jared.

Yes. It is a formed hose made by Mazda to go from the thermostat down to the oil filter. It will hug the engiine and stay clear of the belt.

If you can't find it I can send you one.

Thanks for this info. I vaguely remember putting on the hose originally but during my rebuild, I ordered a complete hose set and it had this short hose and nothing to replace the long one. I reinstalled the old long one and now feel better that it was only 1,000 miles old. I didn't pay attention during original install.

Thanks,
I haven't went to look for the leftover hose yet (heading out of town for a week) tonight, but I do know it was not 12 inches. Maybe 6"?

yep that is where my water is coming from. the hose was too close to the belts and they were cuttong into it. now I have to fix that.

If you rotate that hose more counter clockwise on the barb from the thermostat it will move further away from the supercharger belt. That in combination with the placement of the alternator protector cover and the cable ties that secure it give you control over how that hose sits between the belts.
