I guess that, from the comments on you tube, I should correct some of the numbers. First, there are a couple comments about intake temperatures of 1600F. Turbo owners seem to have wax in their ears. :) If you pay attention, my comment is about exhaust temps not intake temps. A quick search of my favorite website, MTnet, found the following:
Ben "car was tuned on a dyno my egt probe only goes to 1600. it's cool, but not that useful." As you all know, Ben is a turbo expert. The key words here are "only goes to 1600". That is why it is "not that useful". Even at 11:1 A/F I found comments about it "being hard to keep down to 1550". I will still say that 1600-1700 is not unusual for a turbo exhaust.
I do stand corrected about the statement about the added weight of a turbo kit being 60 pounds. I was corrected by one of the manufacturers that a non-intercooled turbo kit only added about 45 pounds and that a good intercooler only added about 10-15 pounds. As I have yet to hear about a 225WHP turbo Miata not having an intercooler, I made the mistake of adding those numbers and the total is ONLY 55-60, not 60-70. I missed by 5 pounds.
Please let me know if I need to clarify any other huge errors. ;)

Well, today, we have this comment.
"urbansoot" i p****** my pants. anyone with some basic knowledge will say that superchargers produce way more heat then turbos. its basic physics :)
If the turbo produces so much less heat than a supercharger, someone please explain how my Coldside can make 18PSI NON-INTERCOOLED on 91 octane and a turbo needs an intercooler when it passes 6PSI or thereabouts? The supercharger must produce a lot less heat to make this happen, right? Can't possibly be ANY other explanation, right? "It's basic physics, RIGHT?" LOL

They are bashing it on Clubroadster, too. It is easier just to ignore that group. They have taken a stand on that position that is now based on emotion, and even if Einstein came out and told them that it works they would hold on to their arguments to avoid loosing face in the group. We know it works based on how long your car lasted with the abuse that was heaped onto it.
I think they are jealous that you have a successful company (or two) that grew out of a hobby, and they have a DIY computer. And their attitude spills over into their own business. Why would I buy their product if I can't ask a question about it on mt.net without getting bashed by these people?

Agreed. Their vanity press aka Mturbo.net is very closed minded. At this point the FFS bashing is just a sport and the fact that none of these guys has ever driven one makes no difference to them. I do have a friend with a 250-300 whp turbo who looks into both of the other forums and he HAS driven my car. Whaddayaknow? He thinks it is a great street car!
Last year they predicted dire circumstances when all the FFS cars with E-cool would be littering the highways when the summer heat came. Funny how not one of them will admit they were wrong about that. As one who has been permanently banned from Mturbo I can attest to their narrow viwpoint as well as their agenda.

I don't worry about what closed minded turbo bigots think.
I just am thrilled to have boost in CA, after spending almost two years seeing if Corky was able to get the 1999 CARB approve turbo approved for my 2000. The rest of the story came out on M.net - the 1999 design needed to retain the pre-CAT and was very ugly. They don't even sell the kit for the 99.
Great video's, great product, great support!

"A closed mind is a wonderful thing to waste."
I too have been banned from MTnet and I have never posted there. LOL

So when is the 30 minute infomercial going to air on late night cable television???
Personally, the minute someone uses profanity in a post I am done reading it.
Keep doing what ya do'in....

Thanks. I thought about that when I quoted him. My apologies. I will fix that.

I was not referring to this thread but rather all the comments on YouTube. You were just quoting those less open minded…..

That's ok. That needed to be fixed. I try to keep the forums pretty clean.

I too have been banned from MTnet and I have never posted there. LOLA pre-preemptive strike (well, ban), My my, isn't that close minded of them.
Your horde of "high test" sniffing toadies (me included) give you high praises when anyone asks for less than 250WHP - the turbo bigots have backed off some.
Joe Perez keeps showing turbo vs supercharger dyno curves, saying they were identical. Curves, yes, performance - no (not even a little bit) turbo lag on a supercharger (a heavy flywheel spools that puppy right up).
I do like the start of the second video - that supercharger scream (and me stuck with the little 105mm).

Be easy on Joe. Yesterday he saw a PC-Pro up close and personal for the first time. Now he is a lot more educated on PC-Pro technology.
