Godless Commie

I have an European Spec '98 NB.
It's not OBD2. Has a single O2, single cat, '01 style headers from the factory, and a "return" type fuel system.
Seems like there are two distinct fuel pumps, or, at least fuel pump part numbers, for the 94-97 and 99-01 model years.
I am guessing the difference is attributed to the returnless fuel system found in the latter category.
Since my car is equipped with the conventional system where the FPR is located on the fuel rail, should I get one made for the 94-97 model years?
Or, does the difference in part numbers address a pressure/flow demand difference?
Has anyone had a chance to see these two different fuel pumps side by side, or better yet, examine them for physical dimensions, terminal locations (I could modify the wiring if that's the only issue), etc?
I live in Istanbul, and I am afraid I have one shot to order the correct part without getting into extended waiting periods to return a wrong part and receive a new one. Wait, vendors do not accept returns on fuel pumps, right?
I am planning on buying a 255 lph hi pressure pump.
(Mp62, TDR I/C, 110/65mm pulley combo..)
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks.
