View Full Version : 99-05 fuel line with high flow fuel rail

The instructions call for the short jumper hose to be removed from the feed tube and the tube to the fuel rail. Then they tell you to install a new hose jumper and cut it to install the tee to the 5th injector. Jumper is shown in the first picture (1597).

There is actually a better and cleaner method. Remove that jumper and everything else associated with that bracket. Run a new hose from the remaining tube (1599) under the new intake manifold, to the fuel rail feed. Then cut it in an open spot to install the tee for the 5th injector.

That really cleans up the 'stuff' that is crowding the bypass valve on the blower.

I used the bracket that secured the nest of fuel stuff to make a bracket for securing the air flow sensor. The hole spacing of the fuel damper is exactly the same as the MAF sensor and one cut and a hole take care of mounting it to one of the airbox studs.

So the rear of the high flow rail gets plugged? What fitting is used for the inlet? Any pictures? When using the HF rail, where is the best place for the ground wires?

There rear end does get plugged. I used a 90 degree elbow for the inlet and ran the hose under the intake. When installing the injectors onto the rail make sure to grease the o-rings and the rail otherwise they're easily cut.
Also, make sure that the fuel line for the 5th injector does not put any strain on the fitting or it will leak.

Also be careful that the fuel line isn't touching any brackets. Mine wore a hole through where it rubbed up against the bypass bracket. That dumped a lot of fuel into the engine bay real quick. Thankfully it didn't ignite. :sweatdrop:
