I can't believe Tom actually came to my house to help me troubleshoot my car.

It wasn't even supercharger related.

For the last few days, I've had a problem with my car not wanting to idle and stalling. When I could get it to idle, it would run really rough. It was so bad that I didn't even want to drive the car.

Tom thought it was a vacuum leak and I tried for a couple of days to narrow down the leak to no avail. Last night I was so depressed about not being able to drive my car that Tom offered to take a look. I told him I'd drive it down today even though I was a little nervous about driving it in this condition. No, he meant he was willing to drive UP to my house! You have to remember that he lives about 1 1/2 hour away - we both live in BFE on opposite sides of Phoenix.

Well, when he got to my house, we could not duplicate the problem. The car ran perfectly. I even reconnected the boost gauge I had disconnected thinking it was leaking. I can't believe it. It runs perfectly. I still think it's one of the small vacuum lines to/from the ELF/SS/intake manifold. But, it runs perfectly now.

Damn, Tom's so good the car fixes itself before he even gets here.

Thanks so much Tom. This means a lot.

....intermitent starting/rough idle then runs fine. Hmmmmm You have a '99 hmmmmmm be on the lookout for a coilpack issue. Good thing is you don't have any cats left to blow out

I was thinking about the CP too. At least I have a perfectly good CP I swapped out a few months ago with me.

The very first time I met Tom was when he came to my house to deliver the coldside, and Im in New Mexico! I was sure surprised to hear him tell me that he'd deliver it. He even stayed to give me pointers while I was installing it.
Thanks again Tom! First rate service!

If I'd have known you were that far into the boondocks, I probably would have stayed home. I think Ari is closer and he is in New Mexico. :) Glad I could perform magic and fix it by simply showing up. :-)

As I showed you with my car by pulling that really small vacuum line, even a small leak will duplicate the problem you described. It was also coincidental to the install of your new Vacuum/Boost gauge and I think the hose might have not been quite connected. Then you fixed the hose when you were messing with it last night. In the meantime, short term fuel corrections set the fuel off and took a couple starts and idles to get it back.

Coil pack is another possibility. This heat is murder on coil packs.

The car is still running perfectly even after driving back and forth from SoCal. Boy the humidity sucked in SoCal, but the 80's temps was great for my supercharger. :D
