Though most people seem to have the BTB, those with the stock TB do not have the luxury of turning the TPS around so the connector faces outward. This makes getting the leads on your multimeter onto those pins nigh on impossible. My solution was to push a couple of .110" female disconnects onto the pins corrsponding to red and black/blue wires on the connector. These disconnects are typically used to connect to speakers. They are a bit smaller than your run of the mill connectors and they fit onto the pins just right. You can then stick the leads of your multimeter into the wire side of the female disconnects and adjust the TPS. When you're done, just pull the disconnects out with a pair of needlenose pliers.
