Well, I started the process of moving my IAC from the passenger side to the driver's side for more room for my remote oil filler on my 2000 hot-side. I re-did some of the vacuum lines, removed the vacuum blocks and replaced them with T-connectors, and in the process, found out the line for the TB adapter was dry-rotted and cracked again, giving me idle issues. So I decided to re-engineer and fix this once and for all. So I removed the adapter plate, and realized that there was no gasket. So I tought maybe there wasn't one (duh!) or when I had some other issues looked at it wasn't put back on. Looking closer, I realized that the adapter plate was mounted upside down! Which is why I kept having the issue with the vacuum line craking, as it is right next to the exhaust header (I have a 01+ header on my 2000). So, as I flipped it over and tried to re-attach, I figured as to why it was upside down, because the gigantic plug with the hole it's mounted in was pushing on the header, and it wouldn't mount properly (yes I did this ).
My next step was to grind down the housing of the TB adapter plate so it would fit as well as find something smaller and of lower profile ro plug the hole. I found a brass plug around the same size and re-tapped the hole for it, drove it in as far as I could, then filled it with Make-A-Gasket. Then I made a gasket for the plate and put everything back in.

I'm hoping this will finally solve my idle issues, and I am even more curious to see how the car responds with the TB plate attached as it is suppoed to be...

See pics below, but beware, they're not pretty! I'm no machinist!

Thanks for listening to my 'rant'

I have those in stock now without that raised section on the BTB adaptor. It was for pre-blower fuel injection but we moved it to the intake manifold on the Coldsides and eliminated it.

The car runs great now, no more idle dip, pulls harder and even the exhaust sounds quieter.

Go figure?
