I'm asking this for the sake of my younger brother. He has a '94 hotside M62 SC kit that he bought from BRP a few years ago. I have been watching over his car up here in Wa state while he's been living in Los Angeles for a while. His main commuter in California is a Scion XB, but he's thinking of selling it and bringing his Miata down instead (he won't be living there for too long, hopefully). His fuel management is the original PC, which isn't quite hacking it now. Anyway, here's the question; Can he buy a CARB legal PCpro to hook up to run his setup and be legal? I'm trying to figure out his options- I agreed to build up his car, but I know they are sticklers in LA, so his IC and whatnot may have to wait. I hope he won't have to rip the whole SC out!

Technically, probably not. I used to have the same BRP kit on my 2001 and their kit was never CARB legal. I believe that Moss has a hotside CARB approved, but you have to convince the tech that you're OK. Remember, their job is on the line. I ended up selling my kit and buying a coldside to make life easier. The changeover isn't so bad, plus he'll get the driveability of the coldside without the idle droop. My 2 cents.

Sorry, it doesn't work that way. The PC-Pro is not CARB approved. The kit INCLUDING the PC-Pro is.
