With the introduction of the hotside imminent, I need a name. Don't know what the prize will be yet but something good. Help me name it. Something other than Hotside.
Post the names and I'll pick a few in a week and set up a poll.
Thanks.

FastSide Supercharger
Simple and to the point with a dual meaning:
"Fast" alluding to "Fast Forward".
"Fast" alluding to the huge power it can be capable of.

If you cannot call it "hotside", how can you still call the original product the "coldside"? :)
I'd just prefer FFS hotside and FFS coldside; but then, what do I know, I am in Engineering and not Marketing........................

Names related to side of engine:
FFS FireSide, FlameSide, FireCharger, FlameCharger, BlazeCharger
FFS FreezeSide, FreezeCharger, PolarCharger, CoolCharger
Storm as synonym for charge as the model:
Polar or IceStorm for the coldside and for the hotside FireStorm.
The storm that leaves victims in its wake ;)
Charge taken for supercharger and a synonym for charge as in attack is
bolt -> FireBolt and IceBolt.

Alright. Here’s the winner. I even wrote your first television commercial (well, I stole it and changed [very] few words).
Super Boost-o-Matic '06
[ open on manic Spokesman standing before his product ]
Spokesman: How many times has this happened to you? You have a Miata, and you're trying to find an exciting new way to drive it down the road. You could add some ricer taillights, fiberglass in a hood scoop, add a flame thrower, and drive your Miata as you would any other car. But why bother, now that you can use Tomco's amazing new tool, the Super Boost-o-Matic '06. Yes, Mustang-eaters, the days of troublesome ricing, glassing, and flaming are over, because Super Boost-o-Matic '06 is the tool that lets you use the gas pedal with no ping, and without ricing, glassing, and flaming.
Here's how it works: Buy a Miata, and install Super Boost-o-Matic '06. [ drops the FFS supercharger into the engine compartment ] Now, just adjust the idle and your throttle response is just the way you like it. [ turns ignition on and revs the engine ] Yes, it's that simple!
[ cut to Miata Boost-Driver on another part of the set ]
Boost-Driver: [ slams the brakes and comes to a stop ] Wow, that's terrific boost!
[ cut back to Spokesman ]
Spokesman: We've got boost here, fast and easy and ready to pour, mmm-mmm! Super Boost-o-Matic '06 comes with plug-n-play electronics, a 190 whp guarantee, and no gremlins, demons, or (especially) ELFs. With Super Boost-o-Matic '06, your Miata will work great on Mustangs, Camaros, Civics, and other vehicles.
Super Boost-o-Matic '06 - it's clean, simple, and after five or ten runs, it gets to be quite a rush! Super Boost-o-Matic '06 - you'll never have to rice, glass or flame again!
[ fade ]
For the growing number of you waaay too young to remember:

I like Banshee as well. The tag line could be somthing like "Make your car scream like a Banshee".
The downside is the definition I found for Banshee: The banshee is a creature in Irish mythology, the word being derived from the Old Irish ben síde, modern Irish bean sídhe or bean sí, "fairy woman" (bean, woman, and sidhe, being the tuiseal ginideach or possessive case of "fairy"). The sídh are derived from pre-Christian Gaelic deities.
Traditionally, when a citizen of an Irish village died, a woman would sing a lament or modern Irish caoineadh at their funeral. These women singers are sometimes referred to as "keeners". Legend has it that, for five great Gaelic families: the O'Gradys, the O'Neills, the O'Van Dan Elzens, the O'Connors, and the Kavanaghs, the lament would be sung by a fairy woman. These families had a fairy woman associated with them, who would make an appearance after a death in the family to sing this lament. Tales recount how, when the family member had died far away then the appearance or, in some tales, the sound of the fairy keener, might be the first intimation of the death.
When these oral narratives were first translated into English, a distinction between the "banshee" and other fairy folk was introduced which does not seem to exist in the original stories in their original (Irish or Scottish) Gaelic forms. Similarly, the funeral lament became a mournful cry or wail by which the death is heralded. In these tales, hearing the banshee's wail came to predict a death in the family and seeing the banshee portends one's own death.
Banshees are frequently dressed in white and often have long, fair hair which they brush with a silver comb, a detail scholar Patricia Lysaght attributes to confusion with local mermaid myths. This comb detail is also related to the centuries-old traditional romantic Irish story that, if you ever see a comb lying on the ground in Ireland, you must never pick it up, or the banshees (or mermaids - stories vary), having placed it there to lure unsuspecting humans, will spirit such gullible humans away. Other stories portray banshees as dressed in green or black with a grey cloak.
Banshees were common in Irish and Scottish folk stories such as those written down by Herminie T. Kavanagh. They enjoy the same mythical status in Ireland as fairies and leprechauns

Kamikaze (Divine wind)
I just finsihed reading Clive Cussler's "Bad Wind". There is a Japanese word that is a derivitaive of Kamikaze that was in the book, but I can;t remember it.
It's either "Bad Wind", or "Evil Wind". I wonder how that might sound?

I think the word you are looking for is Makaze.
I love Cussler. I have read every book he has written featuring Dirk Pitt. I haven't finished Black Wind yet, just about finished. This is the first book he co-wrote with his son, Dirk.
The Kurt Austin series dosn't seem quite as good to me.

Here are some names based on the wind:
Diablo - Northern California version of Santa Ana winds. These winds occur below canyons in the East Bay hills (Diablo range) and in extreme cases can exceed 60 mph. They develop due to high pressure over Nevada and lower pressure along the central California coast. (NWS San Francisco Glossary)
Boreas - A ancient Greek name for north winds. (also borras) The term may originally have meant "wind from the mountains" and thus the present term BORA. (Glossary of Meteorology)
Cyclone - A severe tropical storm (i.e., winds >64 knots) in the Indian Ocean and Bay of Bengal. See also Hurricane and Typhoon. The term is also applied to closed circulations in the mid latitudes and also popularly to small scale circulations such as tornadoes.
And my favorite - Williwaw - A sudden blast of wind descending from a mountainous coast to the sea, in the Strait of Magellan or the Aleutian Islands.

Hope you find a ride soon. They are too much fun to not have.

Tom
I currently have a '00 silver NB, but it's not equipped in a way that I'd want to spend major $ upgrading. It's in great mech shape, and has the hard top but lacks AC and LS (as well as some other desired farkle). I've upgraded the wheels, tires, springs, and shocks - as well as adding cruise and a number of other minor mods. All this is easily transferred to a new ride since I'll return this one to stock for sale. My plan is to find a loaded NB in the US and should be able to do it at little additional cost given the current US/Cdn price differential.
I'd add the CS right now, except there might be compatability issues as I'm not sure if the new ride will be a 99/00 or 01/05 yet. BTW if anyone out there knows of a good LS, SE, or other suitably equipped NB out there, please PM me...

I am partial to my 99 10AE for having all the goodies. However, with the PC-Pro in the 05, it is now a really sweet ride. The seats in my 10AE are comfortable enough to make the 2100 miles in 36 hours a bearable trip. I have done that several times. Even with the JICs, it is still comfortable.
