Because my sway bar rubs when I brake -
I might need to find a way either to move it back or shave enough of it off.

Maybe time for some Mazdaspeed motor mounts?
I'm running a 1 1/8 RB tubular bar and do not have any rubbing. I dont think my pulley is that close to the swaybar.

I was thinking about removing my AC pulley, but that would not make the SC pulley align with the SC.
My bar is hollow so I don't know how much grinding would i need to make it not rub anymore, or it is time to find a new bar.

there is no 'AC Pulley' to remove. the crank pulley is all one piece.
See if you can move the brackets for the swaybar bushings toward the radiator. there should be some play in there.

I'm with Colin. Either look at the motormounts or the swaybar mounts. I wouldn't try to grind awaymaterial from the hollow bar. Since your car is an early NA then I'd think that the other bar might help?

kinda.... regret not doing motor mount while installing the SC (but the mounts on my car are in good condition)
since it looks like the motor mounts are a pain to do
but our motors rock sideways and not too much front to back - i might see some improvements but the way the sway bar sits now - even with upgraded motor mount it might still rub

It's a darn close call for me too, but I only have a 7/8" bar up front.

It might be a NA issue. Both Pat and I have NB's.
Also, if you havent already, put your undertray back on.

I have done the mounts on my car so many times now that I think I can do it in under 2 hours. I also have the MMR mounts if you want to try them out... but I would do the Mazdaspeed ones instead.

I read that the MMR didn't fit too well, since the stock mounts are a little bit offset (IIRC) - how were they?

They fit fine, as far as I can tell. I had them in and out quite a few times as I tried different stuff and never had any issues getting them to fit. The vibrations were too harsh for me. I am now using 2 peices of chain (front and rear) to tie the top of the engine block to the chassis. The chains absorb the vibration and do not allow more than 1/16" of movement, measured at the valve cover.

No pictures since the chain install. I thought it out very well before doing it. Will try and take a few.

Front to chassis. Cut chain too short trying to get it right and just bolted it together. Need to redo.

Just because I had the camera out. Excuse the mess, but I don't bother to clean it anymore.

oooooooooo shinnnnny................ that looks like a pretty well thought out set up - when i get my car and running - i'll call you about the mounts - i should be able to live with them - i had solid mounts before on my old car (the steering wheel would shake during idle)
