So… when can one expect a reduced volume intake manifold to complement hot-side kits with an A/A intercooler? Hint … Hint

I've also asked Tom about an AA IC but with the CARB approval process pending for the Coldside and then the Hotside, it will most likely be a while yet before he gets around to it.
If you need more power, there's always the BTB/e-cool package from FFS with which I was able to get 202HP without an IC of any kind in 112F day here in Phoenix.

That is an option at a later date; however I am thinking Intake Manifold, not intercooler.
Not ready for more power (boost) at this time; first would like to reduce the throttled volume and replace the basic fueling “black box” that came with my kit.
Thanks for the ideas…

Do you really think a new IM will noticably reduce throttle volume? If so, do you think it would be a cost effective upgrade? Agter all, just how much TB is there in a base HS?
As for upgrading the black box, by the time you are ready, Tom should have the JRPC Pro ready and available for sale which as it turns out is also able to control a 5th injector.

By itself… probably not much; however, add an A/A intercooler such as TDR’s, and I bet one will notice the difference. As for cost effectiveness… one could argue about any of the upgrades we do to our cars. I tend to think of it as a drivability upgrade, not a power upgrade. It would be nice to have it as an available option.
Fuel: I am considering Tom’s JRPC Pro option, or something like the XEDE.

Sorry. There is no hotside IM in the forseeable future. CARB, hotside, hotside CARB and the S2K coldside have my plate pretty full. If you do go through the expense of casting a new manifold for the hotsidde, it is hard to take much volume out of it to justify the cost.

Ok… well anyway thanks for the feedback; maybe one day when you get bored looking for some new to develop…?
Good luck with your current projects.

Pokefat, IIRC, you just installed the base S1 Hotside kit right? Do yourself a favor and have the car dynoed as a baseline.
After that, when you start upgrading, you'll know exactly what your gains are.
The first thing I would do to that hotside is to add the BTB and e-cool. with that alone you will be able to get between 190~200+ HP safely depending on what gas you have available to you.

How hard can this be? You've already done the hardest part: the attachment of the manifold to the engine. All you have to do is chop off the outer part of the intake manifold and slap on a cover and you're done.

You make it sound easy. :)
really, for a hotside at 225 or less WHP, I thinkt he stock manifold is just fine. The flow path is not a problem.
