OK... The last time I drove the car was at ~170 or so hp and 10 psi. Monday afternoon I took her out at 16psi and E85 fuel :driving: Impressive. My butt dyno is off as I was guessing around 200 hp Bill just had it on the dyno and it came out at 190 to the ground. Its amazing how much diffrence 20 hp and about that much more torque, makes. It was very noticably quicker and smoother than my 1.6L hotside at 10psi. I had no audable knock and no little red lights on the knock sensor! Tom is suposed to have the parts for my car this week so Ill be getting mine soon. Unfortunatly no E85 for me as there is no station selling it within a reasonable distance, Im stuck with 91 octane and Torco. Oh the SHAME :svengo:

Idle issue is also all fixed. No more hesitation and idle steps up when lights and/or AC are turned on.
Actually, I believe it was just over 180WHP when you drove it. Bill found another 11 on the dyno. Also more low end torque than when you drove it. You need to get one of your own. ;)

So I have a couple of questions:
Other than the 91 octane (up from standard 87 octane) is there any other real modification (excluding the components that come with the kit)? I saw something about a clutch or transmission modification, and possibly some welding in another thread. Those may be early revisions, but I just want to bolt it in, plumb it up, turn the key and go fast.
What is the final HP / Torque rating on 91 octane - I see two sets of numbers?
I remember driving the 05 Mazdaspeed and that was the first (and only time) I considered upgrading to a newer model - the need for speed. I imagine this will likely be the same.

There has never been any welding on our kits.
If you do a new clutch, recommended, get a used 1.8 flywheel and swap that at the same time. Then you can use the larger 1.8L clutch too.
If you want to do an exhaust manifold, get one from Raceland USA. Mine on the 90 was $100 delivered to my door. Beautiful manifold. We have purchased others before for other models and have not been disappointed.
If your cat is 20 years old, it will probably need to go.
KEEP the stock muffler. They work great and are nice and quiet so you can listen to the blower.
Everything is bolt on.
It takes E85 to get to 190WHP on a 1.6L. 91 Octane will be the advertised 165WHP.
