Objectivity is paramount in any endeavor worth perusing. So tomorrow the car goes on the dyno for a couple base line pulls before the kit is added. No room for bias here. I want to see the actual gain. I’ve heard a lot of people regret not getting the numbers when the car was stock. My car is about as stock as it gets. Hope to post numbers soon!

There was a third pull where I hit 100hp even and 94 ft. #’s of torque at the wheels, but I forgot it at the garage. Still 99hp and 93 ft. #’s of torque for a dead stock 1.6 liter Miata isn’t that bad… I hope!:scooter:

Good healthy numbers. WOW! any question whether Mazda runs their cars rich at WOT? 11.3 is like powercard territory!! :)

Those are amazing numbers. I thought ours was great at 96WHP.
Bluewinters, are you Randall? If so, you are going to be a happy camper sooner than we thought. The shop made two of the manifolds and I have blowers coming in just a few days. Preliminary pictures are in Dan's thread (http://www.fastforwardsuperchargers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1999). It looks like it will install with the injectors, fuel rail and FPR all at the same time. That will make install a breeze.
Oh yeah, if you're not Randall, you are going to wish you were. :)

Yep, Randall as the day is long! I can’t wait until this thing goes together! That is one sexy looking kit. A real classy lady. :drool5:

Oh ya, two other questions... How many Miata 1.6 liter cold side superchargers do you think are running around Washington State? And do I still get a Yo-Yo?!?! :stuart:

Well, let's see. There is mine, but it doesn't count as it is in Arizona. Then there is Dan's but it isn't running yet and it is also in Arizona. Then there is yours. It is in WA but it hasn't shipped yet. Zero would be my rough guess. Quite a few 1.8L up there but you will have the first 1.6L. Basically, the kits are identical except the ports are a wee bit closer together on yours. You actually make the same or a touch more power per liter than the 1.8L engines. That, and the fact that a real nice 1.6L Miata can be had for under $5K, make the 1.6L a perfect car. About 20 less WHP on the base kit but about 200 less pounds as well. I like my 90 more and more every day.
I have given up the E85 190WHP :( as E85 stations are too few and far between. We have our own distillery near here as we sit in the middle of a LOT of corn. Feed corn for the dairy cows. As dairy is down, it makes excellent use of the abundance of corn but, up towards Phoenix (where I am almost every day) there is only a couple staitons. I'm Ok with about 165-170 on 91 in AZ heat (over 110F this week) non-intercooled. Did I mention that it is non-intercooled? Sometimes I forget to mention that it is non-intercooled. Alos, it keeps the lightness of the 1.6L with the addition of only around 18 pounds. Would have been at least double that if it needed an intercooler, but it is non-intercooled. :cheers2:
I still need an expert to explain why people east of the Mississippi get 93/94 octane for the same price we people west of the Mississippi for crappy 91??? They have cool weather and we have numbers over 110F and they get more octane. I keep asking but nobody ever seems to have a reasonable answer. On 93 octane and a wee bit cooler temps, it would be around 175-180WHP. And that would be non-intercooled.

Wait 'till you see it assembled and ready to go on the car as one piece. :-) Good thing neither Bill or I know how to weld or it might look like the kludge others look. ;)
