View Full Version : Oil in Vaccum line? and IAC bracket location?

Two questions:
I've pulled the hoses from the vacuum distribution block to relocate it (IAC bracket now moving into the neighborhood) and it looks like I have a small amount of oil in the line. Is this normal? or should I be worried?

Secondly, the IAC firewall mount does not seem to fit for the 99/00 cars. Should it fit or am I missing something? I have a lip that runs about 3 1/4 inch from the top of the firewall. If you try to install the IAC bracket sitting on top of that lip, the IAC will hit the hood when lowered. I know you can put it anywhere, but I wanted you to know of this quirk (your purdy diagrams in the install manual don't reflect reality for some of us).

I saw that too and ended up cutting the back plate to make it shorter and drilled two new screw holes. I also notified Tom of this and I believe he has a shorter bracket designed.

The oil comes from the valve cover and is normal. The new vacuum hose routing cures that because the PCV valve feeds direct to the Throttle Body Adaptor and gets that oil away from everything else.

Ari is correct. We did modify the bracket to make it shorter to avoid that problem. I will send along a new bracket with the SS EGR tube as soon as you send me your address.

Carl,

The SS EGR tube and other parts are on their way. You should have them in a couple days.
