Ari discovered a problem a couple weeks back and I duplicated it tonight. If you have a rough idle or idle that wants to stall, it could be due to the copper EGR tube that connects the EGR valve to the throttle body adaptor. It could break due to vibration of the EGR valve and the heat.

All FFS kit owners do NOT need to worry as the tube was changed to stainless before I started shipping FFS systems.

BRP Coldside owners that wish to swap to the stainless tube simply need to remove the old copper tube and measure it for me so I can cut the stainless tube to the correct length. Standard tube cutters won't work as the stainless is too hard. The dimension should be from the outside of the tube to the end in both directions. See picturehttp://www.fastforwardsuperchargers.com/egr-tube2.jpg Email me the dimensions and your name and address and I will send out the corrected part. Sorry for any inconvenience.

I linked this thread from the coldside forum in case others are having this problem.

Tom,

Just checked mine this evening and guess what ??? Snapped just below the fitting connection at the EGR. Are the fittings both 1/4" tubing to 1/4" pipe thread? I was thinking about changing the fittings to 316SS also as long as I was in there. Oh BTW... the $20 is in the mail! Have a safe holiday weekend!

Yes. Both are 1/4"NPT by 1/4" compression (tube). I don't think the fittings are a problem in that location as they are hard brass. The copper tube was thin wall soft copper and just didn't make it. I will drop one in the package back to you with the throttle bracket.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

Tom,

Can you include one in my package when you send the pulley and bracket?

Thx.

I was planning on it. :) If you can give me the size, I will cut it to fit. If not, I will simply make it longer on each leg. However, the SS tube is a bear to cut. Let me know.

I just mesured it. A=7cm, b=6.5cm.

Thanks. I will cut to fit.

The right tool always helps. I tried cutting the first one with my $12 ACE hardware tube cutter. All it did was put a big dent in the cutting wheel and draw a spiral down the tube. :) Back to Swagelok for the proper $80 cutter and it cuts like butter. :)

There was a post about someone putting an extra loop in the tube so that it could flex. Might be a good idea.

Tom

I'll contact you about a throttle cable bracket and EGR tube when I get back home. I'm out at sea again for another 2 months so I can't do the measurements.

Thanks

Jason

If you have a dremel or other method to cut the stainless, I can send it a little long and you can cut to size. Normal tube cutters just won't hack it.

Let me know when you are ready.
