Big Throttle Body Project

So my MP62 hotside is not a FF set up but Tom has been helping me offline in getting more out of my set up.

The plans:
1. Relocate the IAC valve to a remote location
2. Replace the stock throttle body with a 70mm "Big Throttle Body" (BTB).

I decided to wait on the IAC until I got into the BTB so as to not cause possible rework.

Parts I needed:
1. BTB - obtained a Professional Products 70mm TB for the 96-04 4.6L V8
2. Throttle Body adaptor plate (from Toms Coldside design)
3. A supercharger plate to attach Toms Throttle Body adapter plate to the SC and to the SC support bracket

Photo one shows the BTB, BTB adaptor, and SC mounting plate. Unfortunately the SC mounting plate from Tom is not the same as the Moss plate that came with my MP62.
Photo 2 shows the difference in how it mounts to the SC brackets. Note the very small opening on the Moss plate (black plate). I am going to have the moss plate center cut out to the same dimensions as the plate Tom gave me (silver plate). And that will solve that issue.

And now the next issue...no room. Picture three shows how limited the space is. Tom sent be a Cobra 45deg angle elbow that looked promising but even that could not fit in between the brake lines and the coolant hoses from the heater core. In addtion the BTB hits slightly on the brake system assemply. So I need to relocate some of the brake system as shown in photo 3.

Photo 4 is a picture of the Cobra elbow. Cool piece.
Photo 5 should tell you how little room there is for the intake.

I got hose from SOT and plan to use that as it seems like the best option. Also got some gaskets from SOT.

So that is as far as I have gotten thus far and admit that I am not going to touch if for a while. It is summer and I need to enjoy the car for at least a few weeks, but will update the post when I get back to it. Just wanted to thank Tom for all his help and post in case anyone else in interested, I will post all of my sucesses and failures!

Tom and mx5ish,

Where did you pick up that cobra pipe? Will it fit the BTB that comes with the coldside and the hose that goes to the MAF? If yes to both and you aren't going to use it, I'll take it off your hands (and of course I'll pay for it)... If your gonna keep it, could you point me in the direction of where to pick one up? Thanks.
