View Full Version : Yokohama AVS ES100 - Don't use!
Hey guys,
I just wanted to let you know that Yokohama AVS ES100s
don't have enough grip to handle the power the fast forward
supercharger kit generates. My tires spin in first now.
I know that can be fun sometimes, feeling the back moving
around as the tires spin, but I really want that electrifying
acceleration back.
Time to get some Toyo T1Rs mounted. Those are a great
match for the Fast Forward kit, I think. :)

Great news...you're up and runnin'!!! Until your T1r's arrive you oughta run 26lbs in your rears. That and get the hell out of first as quickly as possible :P

I have had the Pilot SX, Dunlop SP9000, Goodyear GSD3 and Potenza S03 tires on my 99 and my favorites were the Dunlop SP9000 and Goodyear GSD3. My last set of SP9000s were pretty worn out as could be seen in the video of it passing the Mustang Cobra at Bondurant awhile back. I tried to get new GSD3s in 225/50-15 but they don't make that size. I tried to get new Dunlop SP9000 in that size but they were out of stock all across the USA at the time. Then, after reading a lot of reviews on the T1R, I decided to try a set. My opinion is that they are the quietest tires I have ever had on my car and they are as sticky as the GSD3 and SP9000. After a few hundred miles around here and a quick trip to see Pat in California, I decided they were broken in enough to track test. When I got to Bondurant to test them, they had finished the school for the day and had already converted the straight to go-cart service and had installed a barricade across the end of the straight just after the start/finish line. As you will see, it really gave the T1Rs a test. :) But, I think, for a street/track combination tire they passed the test.

Yes. The T1R is 225/50-15. They are a great improvement over my 18000 mile old SP9000 but I think the SP9000s would compare well when new like these.

I run T1s 225/45/16 in back on my 99. They work well.

What do you run up front? You run different tires front/rear?
