Well, after a few revisions and the help of a friend (Steve), the CARB docs are in the mail. I expect to hear back in a week or two (can take up to 30 days, I hear). I will post when I hear back. Next step will be a few corrections, I'm sure, in the documents and then get a date set with the testing service.
No promises, but it is under way.

Thanks in advance Tom. I expect you will need all your cunning and charm working with the state. The M.netters are nothing compared to the apathy of a bureaucracy. Don't burnout on us.

Boy, you make a good point Lyle. It has been said that the opposite of love is not hate it's indifference, and those guys just don't care much one way or the other. They just put in 8 and pick up a check.

I have never given up before and doubt I will with CARB. I can hardly wait to get the EO number on the 05 and give some Californian a really good deal on the first CARB coldside.

Remember that name. I would be thrilled to use it when and if we get CARB. The only promise I will make is that I will work dilligently at getting it.

We know they got the paperwork :)
USPS says "Your item was delivered at 2:01 pm on April 22, 2006 in EL MONTE, CA "
The plot thickens.

Heard from ARB today. All but a couple items were just fine. Will have a list of things to correct and then the "Test Letter" can't be too far behind.
I found the guy who called to be absolutely helpful and kind to a first timer (me). :)
So far, so good.

This is good news.

Talked to them again today. Only issue at the moment is the fuel line. I use a rubber line and it "MAY" be an issue for emissions as fuel can permeate the rubber. They want the hard line that is on the system now. The only thing I have found, so far, to replace the rubber and hard line is aluminum fuel line. It is bent to shape and you flare the ends. Then compression to flare fittings for fittings. They will let me know if it is a real problem or not. He said it was not applicable to all cars???
Other good news is that they recommend a testing lab right here in Mesa. :)

Awesome. It really doesn't apply to me yet, but that's really cool that its progressing so nicely.

The problem with a hard line is that it wont allow flex when the engine moves. unless you use a hard tee at the fuel rail for the 5th injector and use the original line to the tee.

Latest input form the last couple phone calls to ARB is that the fuel line I used already for the 5th injector will probably meet spec. Hooray!!!! :)

Cool... I forgot about them. One of my former co-workers used them for a project a few years back. They're well-equipped to do what you need.
The important thing is the ARB folks like them!
Let's see how our schedules align around the end on this month.
