OK, you hotside guys, I need your help.

I am super close to finally getting the time to install the e_cool and the bigger TB on my 2000.

I have an MP62 6-rib (older) and need some help wiring the IAC into the system with the new TB.

I'm trying to discern from the install doc pic Tom has for the 99/00 install, but want to run it by you guys on how it should look.

I have cruise control.

I'm working on a pic, but if anyone else has one, thanks!

Mike

You need help with the wiring on the Idle Air Control Valve? What wiring? You just extend the current wires is all.

Am I misunderstanding you?

Yea, I meant the IAC plumbimg to the barbs on the TB and engine....

Sorry

Without being specific since I don't have a hotside, you just want to have it bypass the throttle plate. The computer then can effectively vary the idle throttle position (virtual throttle).

Take lots of pics of the install and BTB. I am looking at buying one and would love to see some pics and a write up of your experience.

Good luck posting pictures. I have tried and the resolution allowed is so small I can't get them thru. I also don't know how to change the pics properly so I end up with pixilated garbage.

OK, well then I may make another call and annoy Tom and try and do a better job of putting it to paper. Then I'll do up a drawing of how it should look.

Sorry for the delay. CARB and SEMA got in the way. here are a couple pictures. If you need more, let me know. Most important part was to start all of the bolts before tightening them. Call me any time.

Chuck you seem to have a lot more room behind your throttle body than I do. Does the air hose rub the hood? Tom can you post a view of the whole engine compartment? Also is that an cruise control cable next to the throttle cable?

I looked. I don't have a full bay picture after install. Chuck will have to do it. Sorry

I think the hose does/did rub on the hood a little, but I don;t think it does anymore. The rubbing may have been from the old BRP setup as the rub marks are still visible under the hood, but since I got the BTB, I really haven't noticed any rub marks on the hose itself.

I have an Audiovox CCS-100 cruise control. It looks really ghetto, but it works so I'm leaving it the way it is. :)

I just installed the IAC addapter on my 99 BRP hotside. I had to adjust the idle speed as Tom said. I have only drove it one day but the idle is great now. doesnt die on stops anymore.

You can see some pics at

Now that the BRP tube attached to the side of the blower is not used, how do you secure the intake tube/filter?

I'm a bit confused (as usual). The thread title says e-cool install, but after reading the posts, the thread is actually about mounting the IAC during a BTB install correct?

I just ordered a BTB today and was not aware the IAC was mounted remotely. Are instructions included with the BTB kit?

No instructions were included with mine , but it's pretty straight forward. You just have to decide where to mount the IAC valve. I put mine in the small space outboard of the clutch fluid reservoir. It did require using a 90 degree drill adapter (which I had from another project). I think most other guys have mounted it on the passenger side firewall.

Oops, sorry about that one, I guess I dropped it in there because I'm doing both the BTB and the E-Cool.

Is it possible to hijack my own thread? :tank:

I'm just wondering if I need to fabricate something to mount the intake filter or do something else...

Steve,

There is a 3/8" barb under the BTB adaptor and two more on the BTB. You run one hose from the BTB and one from one of the adaptor barbs to the two fittings on the IAC. The other BTB barb gets a hose to the driver's side of the valve cover.

There is a new rear mount bracket for the back of the blower. You remove the BRP one and install mine. Then bolt on the BTB adaptor and BTB. Connect the 3" flex hose to the BTB and to the MAF. Connect the three 3/8" hoses described above and you are basically done.

Chuck:

I notice not only is your TB turned 180 degrees from mine, but you have a different bracket for holding the throttle cable. I've been looking at mine, and I have the under bracket and it is now out of place, making me unable to secure the cable to keep it in place.

Any ideas?

Mike
