I have a 2005 Mazdaspeed Miata, and my front left foglight is busted.
The assembly is cracked, dunno how it happened, probably from a stone/rock hitting it while driving...no other visible area of scratches.
I went to a mazda dealer, and they are quoting me $479.90 for the replacement parts and 1 hour labor.I think that is pretty expensive for 1 fog light...
anyone know any aftermarket places selling for cheaper?

This is from the Miata.Net forums:

OK, for future reference, Mercury "LP ASY-FOG LH" really is a direct replacement. I was concerned that LH indicated there was a left hand and right hand version, but apparently not. Stock number 3W3Z-15200-AB. List price $67.92.
Seeing as how it's a couple of years old, I can't vouch for the price, but it shouldn't be all that much more expensive.

Do you know what years have the same foglights?
I better keep track of mine (2001) which I took out thinking of using the holes for cold air intake. I haven't had time to try anything with it yet, but if the lights are made out of gold, I should be more careful with them. I can't bring myself to sell them yet because I might want to put them back but I doubt if I will ever use them

We have full glass coverage on our insurance (no deductable). I used to think that was for windshields only. Out here you can change windshields 3 times a year and the insurance company doesn't even blink. Lots of rocks. I had a headlight crack on the 99 from a rock and it turned out to be fully covered. If you have full glass coverage, you should check with your insurance company.

Yes this same thing has happened to someone on miata.net I saw the post but wasn't sure how he got it fixed. It was on a 2004 MSM, mine is a 2005 and it just happened so I posted the question here. We don't have special coverage for glass here or atleast never needed it,if the glass broke, I put a claim in and got it fixed. Windshields are lot more most of the time. But if I can get this fixed cheap I won't turn in a cliam now either, especially if I can fix it my self, which I would like to do to learn more.

Thom, you should try looking at Walmart. Don't laugh. They have fog lights for around $10 and they will fit a Miata. There is a little finagling to do to mount them, but any neighborhood (cheap) mechanic can do it. After that you can feel comfortable knowing that the next broken one is just $10 and the install will be a breeze.

Thom, do a search on Miata.net for "foglight and marauder". Ford makes a replacement part for the Mercury Marauder foglight that's just about exactly the same as the '02+ miata foglight. Not sure if that's the same as the Mspeed thought. Good luck

I found a fog light off a MSM 04 which is the same at a junk yard that has lots of cars like miata and it only cost 29.00 so I bought it and will install this weekend. That shouldn't be too hard just time consuming. It was a little more than Wal Mart but this way no mods needed. Thanks to all for your help.
