In a thread on Miataforum http://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=207407 , Mike@Moss said this:We definitely want to get the MP62 on the 90-93. Due to the different cylinder head we will have to make different bracketry. One of the improvements we have made is a roto-molded crossover tube and inlet tube. We will have to see if these pieces are compatible in the 90-93 application. If not, a little extra time will be necessary to create this tooling.

So, the simple answer to your question is we haven't tackled that project yet. I can foresee us starting in the first quarter of net year. Oh, I will need a guinea pig. Anyone interested?

Is the FFS 1.6 version related to the Moss version, like the 1.8 Hotside?

Yes, and no. If Ii don't get any takers on the free install I offered here and on mnet, I will make a bracket or two and put it on Dan's 1.6. I KNOW he want's it. ;)

I thought all Miata owners looked for reasons to take LONG drives. :) This is also a great time to visit Arizona. 85F for the high. Top down weather and the pool is at 87F.

I stand ready to BOOST where no 1.6 has boosted before

Well. Its been a few weeks Tom. Did you get any bites on the free install 94-98? Elphi has her new 1.8 torsen rear end in and a new FM cat to boot! Had that throttle cable replaced too while Mike had it. Wanna play?

I have decided that <tag> you're it. :)

I just have to clear up the CARB project and take delivery of the Moss kit. Then off to Mike's to assemble on a 1.6 engine on a stand and then in your car it goes.

Heh... Thanks Chuck! This should be a hoot! Not to mention a ray of hope for all the long suffering 1.6 fanatics out there. Ive driven a few 1.8 NA cars and compared to mine before the supercharger; I just really love the (to me)more revvy peaky nature of the 1.6... Just seems like a more fun engine. Less power yes; but (again for me) more fun to drive. The JR supercharger I have on it now has been fun but fuel regulation and timing tweaking makes for a kind of PITA not to mention belt slip even with the BRP belt tensioner. Hopeing the FFS magic touch will be the cure... Oh Ya, and an aditional 70 or so HP over what I currently have could'nt hurt! (BIGGEST GRIN) Just think! Months from now, they may be able to go out. Buy a 90-93 Miata for $2500. Put a clutch and 1.8 rear end in it; a FFS MP-62 kit and have a car that will out handle- and- TROMP Mustang GT's for about a $7500 total investment for a DIY'er. WEEEEEE!!!

Dan,

Let me know if you have time this week to get a base line dyno on your car. I also want to see how the PC-Pro tunes in on the M45 kit.

:toetap05: Well... That did'nt go well. My cars fueling system seems to be fooked. Im so mechanically un-inclined I cant even explain it. Sufice it to say; my car should not have survived this long under boost. Thank God for never having changed out the rear end for a 1.8 torsen untill latley. Caution applying power to the relativly weak 1.6 rear end is probably what saved my motor. Need PC pro's and a well tuned MP-62 to sort things out:biggrin: Also there has been another short delay in getting the kit to Tom from the manufacturer. Stay tuned (heh...tuned...) Things should be starting to pop with this project in January! Perhaps even a CARB EO # for those of you emission challenged:biggrin: Until then; this test monkey stands ready to serve!:taz:

Just be happy we tried to get a baseline run or you might have smoked the engine before we ever got to install the kit. Give me a few days and we'll put together a PC-Pro on a harness and plug it in and get rid of that FPR.

Keep in mind all the '90-'93 are batch and the California '93 ones are sequential

Yep. The PC-Pro has a software switch just for that purpose. Actually have a PC-Pro running a 91 M45 kit. Runs great.

Pretty sophisticated piece of 21st century engineering.

Yup. I was just saying to keep in mind that just like the '99 California cars are a bit different than the federal ones (the extra cat), the '93 California ones are also different than the '93 Federal ones - but this time the wiring is different (4 injector outputs from the ECU vs 2 for the Federal ones). So, if you do a wiring kit it will have to be different for the '93 California ones
