Hey all,
I'll probably be getting an itercooler for my hotside within the next few months, but so far, there aren't too many options. I've heard a few minor but negative tidbits on the TDR unit (not enough mounting points, cutting up the car etc.). Would most of you guys say that the TDR is a really good unit? Are there any other options? Just curious.

Thanks!
Hamid

From what I know, not first hand experience, it is the best out there for the BRP/SOT hotsides. I gather it is a bit of a pain to install but "No pain, no gain."

Thanks tom....
Do you know if the new Moss kit will have an intercooler available, and if so, will it be a different design?

Their MP62 kit will probably be non-intercooled and ~170WHP. Just a guess. As they carry the TDR A/A IC in their catalog, I'm sure that will be what they recommend. As do I.

The other option is the SOT (BRP) which IIRC doesn't involve cutting but costs more, although does include new fans.

Yeah, I think they stopped manufacturing it for a while. I think some people were having issues with it. there were a couple of different versions it seems, but I don't know how good they were. Hopefully there will be more options soon- both my brother and I are shopping, but he'll be buying first! The more info, the better. So if anyone has any more feedback about SC intercoolers, I'd love to hear it!

The AA/IC that SOT is selling cost me 25RWP and I could hear audible pinging when going into boost over 9psi, on my R4 kit. Also with that AA/IC, the KOYO 55mm radiator will not fit with the MP62 hotside kits, due to the included cooling fans will not clear the OEM sway bar.

I have a 99 with the HS m62 and useing the TDR intercooler. I also have the 55 koyo rad.with stock fans. I did have to notch the drivers side fan and cut the legs on the pass side fan and move them up to clear the sway bar. No cooling troubles at all.

Oh wow! I didn't think the Koyo 55mm radiator would fit with the TD IC! Do you have AC as well? I know that once I up the boost, I'll need the rad. I'm just not sure which one. My brother and I have been waiting to do a track day, but now we have to make sure our cars are ready for that.

Call or write Gary @ TDR. He's very helpful and will give you good answers.
If I new then what I know now, I would have one of his intercoolers along with all the ducting panels he supplies with his A/A intercooler kits.

Also, I'm pretty sure his intercooler cores are 3" thick compared to BRP's which are 2" thick. I think you only get a 1-1.5psi drop across his intercoolers. My BRP intercooler drops the boost about 2-2.5psi.

More Restriction = More Heat......right?
