Another 99 in Ohio joins the club. The race is on to see if Ohio or CA gets more Coldsides. ;)
Thanks Chip.

I think you're about to hear from California (a guy named Hans). That'll even things up. :boxing_smiley:

Just did. I guess we'll have a "welcome hans" pretty quick. Bad news is that I am out of blowers. Good news is that Magnusson says ~3-4 days to ship so I shlould have more pretty quick. They are flyin' off the shelf. ;)
Hey Tom!
Although originally from Michigan, I now live in Columbus, Ohio. My 2000 has a BRP coldside, but we know where most of those parts came from.........

All but the engine management and the crank pulley. ;)

Thanks for the welcome, and I think it IS safe to saythat Chipwas a contributing factor! :devil2:
Tom, I sent you an e-mail, but not sure I sent it to the right e-mail. It was re: a second-thought on which pulley... I will call or IM you to discuss!
Thanks for the warm welcome! Look out Chip! Here I come!

Didn't get it. Tom@KnackToys.com or Sales@FastForwardSuperchargers.com should work. Are you thinking you want a smaller pulley? ;)

Got it. I don't have 90mm pulleys in stock. Not much call for them but I will have one made special for you. ;)

If it were possible, it's be GREAT to put together some form of friendly competition... Not sure what the judgment criteria could be...

I'll seriously work on that... Including being currently scheduled to run at the SCCA Solo Peru National Tour event, Toledo ProSolo, and SCCA Nationals in Topeka... I just wish I were a better driver to illustrate the product! :D

Welcome Paul!
I hope to see you at a OVR or Buckeye Miata Solo event this summer.
I just got my install all buttoned up and am dying for the weather to improve so I can get some seat time.

Congratulation Paul!
I am looking forward to this year. I got a better hotel for the ProSolo with a nice pool this year Paul. That place we stayed two year's ago was horrible.

So... The kit shows up Monday, and I am SALIVATING to start! Of course, the weather decides not to cooperate, and the temps fall back into the teens until this Friday! Nice...
Fortunately, someone decided to provide me with this excellent little yo-yo to pass the moments until the weather improves this weekend! LOLOLOL
I hope to be 'live' by this time next week!

Napolean took a yoyo into battle as a stress reliever. I figure if it was good enough for him, it is good enough for you. ;)
What did you think of the box? We devised that shipping box after FedEx drove over Ari's and destroyed it. I think this box would survive.

I assume you're referencing the intake box, and it is truly a mini-engineering marvel. I actually slowed down as I was opening it to admire it! VERY nice. I can't imagine any drop-test it wouldn't completely survive!
Coincidentally, Jean's 3.9 ring and pinion showed up the SAME day! Slightly less formal packaging, but equally as secure! Thanks a ton, Jean!
Now if only I was sure the 13 x 8.5 Panasports that are due to arrive next week were guaranteed to be so well-packed!!
So I have about a month-worth of weekends to install and tweak:
- the FFS CS kit
- 550/375 Ground Control / Eibach / Koni coil-overs
- Hard Dog bar
- Koyo rad
- 3.9 rear gear
. etc., etc. etc...
Oh, and then I have to drive better than Chip! LOLOL

Chip just ordered the 130mm pulley. J/K
8.5" rims? Wow. 250 tires?
mageep

LOL.. Don't SCARE me like that! I know Chip is more than crazy enough to do it!
I got the 8.5 for 3 reasons...
1 - I'll either run the Hoosier 225 or the v710 215 (which actually measures 225), so that equates to 8.8 inches, so basically a vertical sidewall.
2 - and then there's the possibility that some manufacturers might make a 245 (or a 225 that in reality IS a 245...)
3 - Resale. If I decide not to keep them, the 13 x 8.5, 4 x 100, 5" backspace is the most prolific CSP/small-car SM / combo, so more potential customers.. .Go to www.sccaforums.com, and look at all the 'WTB' listings for 13 x 8-9 Panasports...

I had 13x8 wheels and 215/50-13 V710s. The combo worked well but I found myself running out of speed in second and needing to shift to 3rd more often. I plan to run 225/45-15 on 15x8 6UL wheels. With FI you dont need the gearing reduction with small tires for quick acceleration.

I hear ya... Thus the 3.9 ring... If I need to, I'll order the 3.6! :) I was looking less at a helper for acceleration (because you're right), but more because I lose approximately 8 pounds of unsprung weight per corner, as well as a fair amount of rotational mass. As I am sure a yo-yo designer might agree, total weight is one thing, but how centralized that weight is is just as important.
So, while I am MOST CERTAINLY not an engineer, I assume that, although I am down approx. 10% on circumference with the 13", I make about 5% of that back on the rear gear, and depending on the course, HOPEFULLY benefit every time I accelerate and hit the brakes. Don't hesitate to correct any flaws in my thinking, though...

BTW... LOVEthe 6ULs.. .Am buying a set for the street. a GREAT deal for the $$ at just sub-12 pounds... that said, the bulk of the weight is at the outer ring, whereas with the 13" C8 Panasport at just over 6 pounds, the heaviest component is the center spoke casting...
