I'm down to 8 gallons of Toluene and will be taking Hans for a test run this weekend so I'll kill 1/2 a tank or so  Any impressions to share yet?

You know, I have been going to post for a week now. I put a whole can in last week to a tank of the worst 91 I could find (Shell). AMAZING stuff. I think a third of a can (~$5 worth) would have been sufficient. I will also add that any race days I do will be accompanied with this stuff. I think it is way better than 100 octane fuel and a ton cheaper. From me, it gets a five star ***** rating.

I got it here http://www.swracecars.com/shopping/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=61&cat=Chemicals+%26+Octane+Boosters. As good a price as I could find. About $18 a can after shipping.

Not that I doubt your experience with this, has there been anything published not related to advertising where it was tested by a lab or something to verify it does what it says? I have never heard of it but will get some if I ever decide to go back to the track if it is the real deal.

I have seen loooong threads on the "hostility" forum about the chemistry of octane ratings and don't know what to believe. It got too complicated.

First, for the record, I do not sell this product nor do I intend to promote it, carry it or sell it. I don't have a horse in this race and don't make a dime off of it. With that said, I have no idea what the octane rating is other than what they say it is. I did a web search and didn't find anything other than people on other forums (non-Miata) praising it. All I care about is how it runs.

My latest observation is that last Friday I let the tank get near empty and filled again with the worst fuel I know of in Arizona (Shell). I drove for a 1/4 tank and it pinged and knocked and would not go above 4500RPM without the threat of self destruction. I hadn't driven it since then as I was busy shipping kits. :) :) Anyhow, this morning I was going to use the 99 for my rounds and put half a can in it to test. I actually think it runs better with a half can than when I put the whole can in. I am sold on the stuff. It could actually be making the octane 86 instead of 96 BUT, it runs like a race car with it. I can floor it going up a steep grade in 6th at 2500 RPM (3.6 diff too, remember) and it pulls like crazy. It rolls up to 7000 RPM like never before and runs as good or better than when I put straight 101 in it.

Caveat!!!!!!! I don't know what it is doing to my engine? For all I know it is destroying it. For me, that simply means that if it blows up, I will have to replace it. I would never recommend this to anyone and you use it at your own risk just like me.

What next? Well, next, I am going to try a full tank of Shell 91 AZ fuel with 1/3 can of the stuff. I think it might even run awesome with 1/4 can (8 oz). If so, my cost would be $4 per tank of fuel and I would be more than willing to pay that to run the big pulley (115mm) that I am currently running. I think I will skip trying to test the 120mm and go straight to the 130mm I had made for test. I think I can top 225WHP on my "non-intercooled" (nobody seems to believe E-Cool really works except those who are running it :)) coldside with this stuff and our rotten gas.

I will be at the dyno tomorrow with a customers car. If I get a chance, I will dyno with the stuff in my 99 and see if I am making more power or not.

What?! Cooling hot air with gasoline??? Nah, it will never happen...

lol. Tom i think people are skeptical because "E-Cool" doesnt sound technical enough for them to believe it works well. Somthing with a name as simple as "E-Cool" couldnt possably use the basic of thermo-dynamics to lower temperatures in an intake manifold.

You should have named it "Tom's Proprietary Intake Charge Temperature Reducing, Air/Fuel Ratio Adjusting, Evaporative Injector Device"

Or perhaps TPICTRafrAEID for short
