Just like the title says, I'm looking for a '99-'00 intake manifold. I'm rebuilding the engine in my '96 and planning to do the '99-'00 head swap. Figured someone around here might have an intake manifold they no longer need...

Let me know if you have one and how much you'd like to get for it.

Thanks,
Craig

I don't know if the 2001 would work. I'm also not sure I would want to give up my option to go back to stock if my coldside blower pooped out but I might think about it for a awhile.

Actually, there are a lot of miata or mazda specific dismantlers around the country. I just called about 20 of them looking for something more rare than an intake manifold. I would think there are a bunch available unless they throw them in the recycle bin immediately.

Call Mike http://www.mikes-place.biz/. He may have one. They have a LOAD of used parts for Miatas.

I talked to Ann at Mike's Place - no luck. Thanks for the suggestion!

This is the place I got my part which is obviously the last place I called. They are advertised on the Miatanet marketplace.

http://www.mazmart.com/

There are several others also in the marketplace and some others I got as referals from them.

I'll give some of the other m.net sponsors a try. I've talked to Tom at PartsGroup several times over the past couple of months - he seems to be selling '99-'00 motors about as fast as he can get them in, and he's not interested in selling just a head/intake. I'm on his list, but haven't gotten to the top yet...

My '96 had the oil pump failure and it sounds like a rod bearing paid the price. Other than PartsGroup, I've had trouble finding a used motor I feel confident I could trust. I've got a local guy who does excellent work lined up to rebuild my engine - but I was hoping to do the '99 head swap. The heads & intakes have gotten expensive though, even on the used market. Good fof 10hp or so over the stock NA head, so lots of demand.

I may end up just putting that money into the "Coldside Savings Fund"...

The part I got from Mazmart supposedly came off a 01-05 engine with only 23K miles but it had a broken alternator flange or something. That was the reason it was considered a "core" engine, meaning it wouldn't be sold as a complete replacement. It would probably have an intake manifold if they are the same as 99-00. I don't know what any differences are but I would think they should be the same. I don't think VVT makes any changes to intake air parts.

I would think getting the whole thing might be good for spares but I don't have anywhere to keep it. (Plus it is missing the VVT actuator.)
