WTB:
3.9 rear diff
Foreseeing need for taller gearing! :taz:
Prefer to buy the whole case, lock, stock, and barrel, but would be willing to buy just the ring and pinion...
Anyone?

Wish I knew how to photoshop pics. I was thinking of putting some 21" thug Escalade wheels on the back. That should do it.

Paul,
I got mine from Australia. You might post on the Aussie board (http://www.aus-cartalk.com/viewforum.php?f=18) and maybe one of them could get it and send it to you. Note the sponsors at the top of the Aussie page. ;)
The parts you need are:
Ring/Pinion: MA02-27-110 3.636
Speedo Gear: M533-17-400A
Distance Piece: M035-27-171

My bad. Sorry. That's what I get for posting at 5:00 in the morning. Please disregard that post. Well, if anybody needs them, those are the part numbers for the 3.636 diff. :) Of course, if big is good, bigger is better. ;) The 3.636 diff makes the 6 speed match the typical 5 speed with 6th as an overdrive. I can't imagine waht the 3.636 diff would do with a 5 speed? 100 MPH in 1st? LOL

Sweet, Tom. Just checked it out. Lots of fun stuff on that forum, even if you were referencing the 3.6! Just waiting for their admin to accept the registration. Surprised you didn't make more reference to eCool in that thread when they all started talking about water injection, IC, etc...
Chip also has me checking into how quickly I can get Mazda Comp to get moving! Some of the people on eBay want as much for USED stuff as it seems you can get from Mazda Comp new!
The weather will be conducive to begin disassembly in anticipation of the kit this weekend!! :D

PM'd you...
BTW, they DO have 3.9s listed on their board as well, but my guess is any potential savings -- if any -- would be nullified in shipping

That is a great group of people down under. Good news is that we could use the normal banner ads and didn't have to turn them upsidedown so they could read them. The computer screens seem to automatically compensate for being on that side of the earth. I have been there several times over the years and, if I had to pick a place other than the USA to live, that would be it.
I think there will be a lot of sales down there as soon as Chris gets his installed this weekend.

PURCHASED! Thanks to Jean of Montreal for helping me to ensure my first 2 gears will be useful, and that I will spend just a little less on tires! ;)

I would recommend that you have a diff shop to do the swap. The back slash has to be set correctly in order to not destroy the gears

Agreed. I've heard the same.
