:sweatdrop: :hammer: Well... After much consternation it was decided to have the guys at Arizona Dyno Chip do the motor swap. Mike is just too backed up with work to take it on now, and neither Tom or I can wait... Soooo. I dropped her off this morning then went to get my "new" motor from Mikes place. By the time I got back to drop off the motor the operation was under way. Heres hopeing for a succesfull outcome.:sweatdrop:

:toetap05: Turns out I needed new motor mounts too and the new motor had to have a cam removed and replaced with one of my old cams due to a cam position sensor issue. TOM you need to speak with Keith at ADC about the pulley issue on the new VS old motor.:hammer:

I talked to Keith and now need to call Mike. The original motor had a different crank. That had a V-Belt for the water pump and alternator. It also had a larger key for the pulley. The new motor uses a 6 rib pulley like the newer cars. That means either the pulley needs to be modified to run the V-Belt or the water pump and alternator need to get new 6 rib pulleys. I will chat with Mike today and see what the best route is. My guess is to mod the alternator and water pump pulleys.

:sweatdrop: :sweatdrop: For a while their I thought it was gonna be a REAL BIG deal. Hope thats all it is. Mike will know. May even have the parts on-hand. PS: I had the injectors sent off as a saftey measure to be tested and cleaned.

You know, it would of been easier to just get a 1.8 motor and pretend that it was a 1.6.

 I've driven both and prefer the power curve of the 1.6L... Besides I get to be the first!:taz: Just heard from Tom a while ago, he has the correct pulleys in hand, and should have em to ADC tomarrow! Test Monkey out!

Yep, but I want to build the 1.6L MP62 kit for the 1.6L guys. Whole new market. I think the 1.6L guys have been waiting a long time for some real WHP.

:hammer: After one last pulley glitch ( new/different alternator fixed it) the word is that Elphi should be running NA tomarrow:drool5: Now where did Tom leave that kit:confused:

:censored: Well... One last (I HOPE) problem solved. The engine install has been delyed a day and a half because ADC couldnt get the thing to make any oil pressure. Tried back priming and SHORT engine runs at low RPM and were getting ready to pull and swap the oil pump http://forum.miata.net/vb/images/smilies/eek.gif Well... After a call to the engine importer who ran the engine prior to shipping still no oil pressure. Then I called Mike at Mike's Place in Phoenix. Within 45 sec of discussion the ADC guys REVERSED the hoses going to the remote oil filter/oil cooler and SHAZAM!!! More oil pressure than Jed Clampet!! http://forum.miata.net/vb/images/smilies/jumping-smiley-019.gif Should be ready for pick up today but I wont be able to get it till Saturday morning. POOP! Hope that was the last hoop to jump through. Tom will start bracket fitment to the old motor on a stand next week after he ships even more of those dang supercharger kits... Will keep all informed of progress when I know something. Test Monkey out!:taz:

:hammer: Well: After a few last glitches Elphi is home and had her oil/filter changed to Mobil 1 10-30. Drove just fine for not having any boost at all. Still having issues with the starter and the coolent temp guage but that will be sorted as soon as she is back in the shop for the install. http://forum.miata.net/vb/images/smilies/action-smiley-066.gif Motors wating for ya at ADC Tom!!! http://forum.miata.net/vb/images/smilies/action-smiley-066.gif

Wow, I think it was simpler when I built the 99 and dropped it into my 93 and then forced the 99 coldside to work with my 1.6 electronics...
Way to go Tom, I know there are a bunch of 1.6 guys sitting on the edge of their seats watching and waiting!

The brackets are mocked up and we will have Dan's car Tuesday to test fit. There are still other pieces but I think we will have it ready to make production parts by the end of the month.
