I'm installing the AEM UEGO controller in my 01 and have a question about the 02 sensor location and hook up. Can I replace this new sensor with the factory sensor in the down pipe? If so what do I do with the wires for the factory sensor? Can I use the new sensor to do the duty of the one I'm replacing and how do I hook it up to do so. Or is it just easier to weld the extra plug in the AEM kit into the down the down pipe and leave the factory setup alone and use the widband as a secondary monitoring gauge?
Doing this because I will be installing the PC Pro next week.

I read somewhere that wideband O2 sensors do not like a lot of heat, so I had a bung welded about 6" in front of the cat to mount my wideband O2 sensor. 8 months and no problems so far.....
I figured the less I messed with the OEM sensors/wiring the better off I'd be.

Yah, just get a bung welded in. This eliminates any possibility of problems. One extra step and some wait time, but worth it.

After I posted this I figured out that was the best direction but it's always nice to hear re-enforcement I made the correct decision. Thanks. OK so how did you wire it in? All you need at this point is the power and ground leads right? Or do you need to wire in the wht or blue wire to something?

Sorry, can't help you there. The AEM should come with good instructions unless you bought it used. If you did, you could try posting the same question over on miata.net's forum. I'm sure someone could help you out.
I have the Innovate LC-1 wideband and I just followed their wiring instructions. It was pretty straight forward.
