I have heard that some use two PC-Pros. What does that do for the car?

How does the installation work?

If you are running an auxilary injector (E-cool) you need one PcPro to control the auxilary injector and one to control the 4 stock injectors.

I have not yet installed mine, but both units are wired together into a single adapter.

It appears all I need to do is
1) Plug the adapter into the ECU
2) Run a single vacuum line to the two PcPros
3) Solder the two wires coming off the PcPro for the E-Cool to the injector pigtail connector

Scuba Steve,

Your message you "need" one. However, the FFS only comes with one.

So I was wondering how much one is needed and what the 2nd one does for the car.

Thanks,

Sorry, I don't quite understand your post, but let me try to answer.

You can purchase either one or two.

If you purchase one PcPro, it would be to control your stock injectors. I suspect most people currently have this setup.

If your stock injectors cannot supply enough fuel, you need to install an auxilary (additional) injector to pump more fuel into the intake manifold. Should you choose to install this auxilary injector, you need something to control the fuel delivery. That would be a second PcPro.

Tom's kit automatically comes with an auxilary injector, known as the E-cool. It supplies additional fuel and cools the compressed air going into the intake manifold. The fuel delivery used to be controlled by a different system (SS?), it is now controlled by a second PcPRo.

Tom and coldside owners, I don't have a coldside. If I misrepresented this explanation, feel free to correct me (I know you would anyway)

:seeya: Two PC-Pros for 1.8L the 1.6 folks only needs one to control the 5th injector because the 1.6 injectors are batch fired. (Tom correct me if Im wrong)

If you drive a 1.8 and buy a FFS you will get 2 PC-Pros. Steve already expalined why. Some of the people reporting on their experiences with the PC-Pro on Miata.net either have turbos or no fth injector.

These explanations are all correct. A lot of the reviews you read on mnet are from JR M45 kit owners, Turbo guys and BRP hotside customers. They are typically only running one PC-Pro as they are not running my e-cool system. All of my coldside kits come with two PC-pros as they all come with e-cool as well. My new hotside kits will also come with two PC-Pros as they also will have e-cool.
